Upgrade Ticket to AP

First of all, I’m not sure I’m posting this in the correct section.

I was hoping someone could explain and/or direct to where I could get information on upgrading a ticket to an annual pass. Do you get full value of the ticket, i.e., if I use a 10 day park hopper to enter the park on let’s say Saturday which is the first day of use, and I want to upgrade to an annual pass that same day to activate my regular ticket, do I lose one day’s value of the ticket. What about if I purchase an add on to my park ticket (let’s say I purchase No Expiration or Park Hopper), do I get the value of that as well or will I lose some of the value of my ticket?

As long as the ticket is used, you will be credited with the current gate value of whatever ticket you are holding towards the purchase of an AP or better ticket. So it's simply:

Price of ticket you want (or AP) - price of ticket you have = price you will pay to upgrade.

It does not matter if you have used days, or if you have added days or features.

The only caveats are:
All upgrades must be done w/in 14 days of first using the ticket.
If you have a ticket with water parks + more option, and you use any of those options, you will only be permitted to upgrade to the Premium AP, not the basic AP.

So if I’m understanding correctly, if I purchase an adult 7 day MYW ticket with park hopper & water Park Fun & More with no expiration for the price of $529.31, then I use it to enter one park, later than day I can upgrade to a regular AP which price is $531.44 so I’d only pay the difference of $2.13 as long as I haven’t used the water park fun & more option or the park hopper option.

Another example, if I purchase the same ticket as described above, then use it for 6 days, then decide to upgrade to an AP, I’d still get full credit of $529.31 to use towards the purchase of the AP? Would the # of days used on my MYW ticket be deducted from your AP so that instead of 365+1 days for the AP it would be good for maybe 359+ 1 day if I’ve used 6 days.

Sorry this is so confusing. At least it is for me.

Yes you seem to have it down. I don't think you are confused at all!

And you are right - I didn't mention this - the start date of your AP will be backdated to whatever date you first used the ticket that you are upgrading.

There is a very good ticket info sticky @ the top of the Theme Parks board if you want more details on any ticket question!
