Upgrade studio to one bedroom

Okay, I'm sure this has probably been asked many times before, but, would Disney consider upgrading my studio to a one-bedroom if I paid extra for it? We rented points for four nights at Bay Lake, and the woman I rent from did not have the extra points for a one bedroom. I would love to surprise my daughter with a one bedroom. I know there is a big difference in cost, especially going from paying points for a studio to paying cash for a one bedroom. But, if there was a one bedroom available, and I was willing to pay, would it motivate Disney to make the extra money? Thanks!

Points reservation for a studio cannot be upgraded via cash to a 1BR. Would have to cancel existing reservation and, if through same owner, make new one with either more points or points for some days and cash for others. Other option is to cancel existing reservation (if allowed by agreement with owner) and simply go through Disney (not DVC) to reserve a 1BR with all cash.

Thought that was the case, was just hoping it might not be! Well, my daughter will have to "suffer" staying in a studio. We're less than two weeks away from going, so cancelling and rebooking is not an option. And, I could never afford to pay cash for any DVC room. Wish I could buy a timeshare myself, but for now, have to rent. I'm just glad there are so many owners willing to take the chance and make their points available. I, for one, really appreciate it.

Thanks for the info!

As noted, you can't upgrade a points room with cash. However, if you could, it'd be the difference in the retail price of the rooms. You might want to contact the person you rented from to see if they have any points that are distressed or in holding and to see if they could check on availability. You could also see about converting what you have to a few days on points in a 1 BR and then paying cash for the remainder of the days.
