Can you upgrade your hopper tickets to an AP no matter where you purchased the ticket from?

Also, if you are an AP holder, is there any way to purchase magical morning tickets some place?

There's no way to buy MM tickets/passes/admission. It's either on a normal (non convention/military/etc) ticket that's 3+ days, OR you get it by staying at one of the onsite resorts (you need admission for that day, but you could do it even with an AP or one or two day ticket).

As long as your ticket doesn't state that you can't upgrade, you can upgrade. BUT if you got it as a discount, know that you will "lose" that discount. You will always expect to pay the FULL price of the AP in total. So if you bought a $100 ticket for $90 and the AP costs $200, you'll be paying $110 for the upgrade. (this is where WDW and DLR differ with discounted tickets)

If you have an AP, you can get a MM by staying in the Disney hotels. You use your roomkey and AP to get entrance to MM.
