upgrade question

We are going to Pop Century March 14-21 on the buy 4/get 3 deal. This will be our 2nd trip staying on property (Pop the other time too.)

I remember reading SOMEWHERE that when you make your reservations that you should ask if there are any upgrades available that require you to actually ask for.

Does anyone know anything about this sort of thing? Any success stories? Advice on how to go about this?

I'm a little confused -- are you looking to upgrade your room to another category, to another hotel, or are you looking for a free upgrade? You can certainly inquire as to other availability and the price difference when you make your reservation. Free upgrades are few and far between, so book the category that you want and you won't be disappointed.

If youre making a new res there are no discounts or upgrades available. For any discount or promo you have to specifically ask for it, you cant say "do you have any discounts available" and the CM's have NO access to free/discounted upgrades. VERY VERY rarely there will be whats called a "flex" offer that randomly appears on their screens but it may require you to change dates or resorts or packages.

I suggest you book the room/resort you want and dont expect an upgrade. If it happens it happens but theyre rare
