Upgrade Question!

I recently used my DVC points to reserve a stay at the CBR and booked standard rooms....is it possible to call member services and upgrade that reservation to preferred but pay the difference directly (not using my points)? I'm thinking it might be worth it...but haven't done this before....my first time using my points actually! Thanks in advance "experts"!

wait the resort may upgrade you. if they don't pay the extra to them.

We stayed at the BC before there was BCV and we upgraded our room upon check-in. I forgot how much it was per night, but I do rememeber thinking during our stay that I would not do it again.

Of course if you wait until check-in there may not be availability.

Thanks for all the perspectives! If I DID want to do this (or at least get info on cost, etc.) would I do that directly with CBR or through member services?

We stayed at the Contemporary on points last August. We added on nights before and after. The nights before were a different category, but same area. We had to move after those nights because they could not change the points reservation in any way.
