Upgrade Power Passes for EE?

Happy Meow Year! (Also, New Year!)

So wondering if it may make sense for us to upgrade power passes to Preferred passes for a trip this February over Presidents Day week -- just to be able to access HP areas during Early Entry hours.

As I understand it, the upgrade cost looks to be $40/pass which may be reasonable enough for us over 3 or 4 days at the parks. (We are staying offsite and already have one Preferred pass for the free parking and other discounts.)

Do you think EE would that valuable over that time frame? Any other considerations to think about? The passes will expire soon after the trip.

I tried to do that while we were there a couple weeks ago. I had just paid about $180 to renew my PP. The said it would cost an additional $207 to upgrade! Made no sense at all so I phoned and they were unable give me prices. They said go back to Guest Services and ask agai. I didn't want to spend any more time in their lines.

I just checked UO's website and the Preferred AP has that weekend [2/18 - 2/20] as blocked out for early admission. Premier has no block out dates for EE.

Thanks, we'd be looking at hitting the parks the following weekdays that week (starting 2/21) and so. would still be interested in how important/valuable you think EE would be.
