upgrade Gold AP to Platinum

Anybody try to upgrade their Gold AP to Platinum recently?
I've got an upcoming trip Dec 17-20 - of course, the Gold AP blackout starts December 18. I tried to upgrade to Platinum in late October with no success. Just wondering if anyone has managed to get an upgrade since then?

There are several posts scattered on the various Tickets and AP threads on the TPAS board from people who tried to upgrade but were not allowed to do so. I'm in the same situation as you, a trip booked in January for these coming blackout dates, and have been watching all the threads carefully. We finally bought regular tickets for the trip so that we could book park passes to match the rest of the family before the park passes filled up.

Our friends have a trip planned during blackout later this month and were not able to upgrade. They called several times and even went to guest service when we were with them in November. Stinks!

I was allowed to at the MK guest services window in August. A supervisor had to do it and it took a while.
