Ok - I have heard a ton of talk of parkhopper passes being upgraded to annual passes.
I am going durring blackout days so I know to wait until the last day that is not a blackout day BUT... The tickets are discounted now on DL website so would I pay the difference of the discount price or the normal price? We got a package deal for the 5 days & hotel at HOJO's.

You get credit for the price paid, which in the case of a package is normally the discount rate offered for ticket only purchases. The price should be listed on the back of the ticket and it will also be available at the park when upgrading from the barcode info.

Yep, with DLR APs you nearly always just pay the full price, no matter what you upgrade from.

With the blocked out days, though, you CAN upgrade on the LAST blocked out day. It's a courtesy they do, to not kick you out of the parks just b/c you upgraded to an AP on that day. :goodvibes

Thank you Amy,
So I guess I need to wait to get my tickets in hand and see what the cost is :) I better start saving so I can convince DH to upgrade. :yay:

Where did you get the package from? When we had our 5 days from Costco Travel, I called Costco Travel and they were able to tell me the "upgrade value" of our tickets. In our case it was the same as the rate on disneyland.com for the prepurchase, discount, amount. So last September, that was 189 for the 5 day adult ticket. This year it would be about $10 more, I believe.

Our tickets were special "souvenir" hard plastic tickets (that we were NOT allowed to keep once we upgraded) and did NOT have the price on the back. Calling, or waiting until we were upgrading, was the one way I could find out.

Thanks - I don't think there is a discount for the AP but was just wondering the 5 day pass difference to know what to judge from. :)
Cool Deal to know we can do it the last blackout day - that way we have 2 days to get over there & get it done - if DH lets me!

Woo, could I have stated that any LESS clearly?

The value of the adult ticket was 189. We upgraded the day before all the prices went up, and our APs were 239 each (now they are 259). By the way, APs are the same price from 3 to eternity, there is no extra discount for kids, in case you didn't know that.

So we paid 50 bucks for each adult to upgrade, and a bit more than that to get my son's ticket to the $239 AP.

Ohhh - Good to know - I will call as soon as I get them!
They are the souviner type from Disneyland Travel with the lanyard and the MM.

do you have to upgrade your park hoppers to annual pass with days still left on your passes???

Ok - Better :rotfl: I was figuring about 80 each and we do have a child so good to know!
Thanks!!

For DLR, yes. I have heard of exceptions in drastic circumstances (people dreadfully ill and not able to upgrade before they leave), but in general, you have to upgrade before the park closes on the last day of your ticket.
