Upgrade free timeshare tickets?

Hi Everyone!
It looks like I'll be taking a last minute trip end of August to the happiest place on earth with my parents who, after numerous medical problems, are in some SERIOUS need of some Disney magic. We'll probably only do two days in the park but would love to have the park-hopping option. We'd consider doing a timeshare presentation to save a few bucks but wonder if we can then spend the $35 dollars to upgrade them to a park hopper?

Has anyone had any experience with this? Thanks, as always, for your help! Yeah...I'm a self proclaimed Disney-nerd!

I may be wrong, but I think I read somewhere that you can't upgrade these, because the timeshare company buys them at a discount. You might also want to ask on the Budget Board about whether or not it's worth it to do the timeshare thing for tickets at all. I've heard some very negative reports about nightmare high pressure sales pitches, and losing the better part of a day of your vacation to these people.

It's true that it depends on what tickets they give you. Some are purchased through normal ticket distribution channels and are upgradeable, others are not. The only way you will know for sure is to have them scanned at a Guest Relations location at the parks or DTD.

Absolutely. Go to guest relations and ask. I upgraded a pair into APs a few years ago. It entirely depends on what sort of tickets the company purchases to then give away!
