if you were concidering doing the deluxe its worth it, im going during the free dining ( by chance ) and upgraded to the deluxe, the total came out to be cheaper than i originally paid for just the basic ( i had booked stuff before free dining came out) so like the above poster said you pay about a $32 dollar difference to upgrade to the deluxe
no, actually you are purchasing the Deluxe DDP for the difference in price from the Basic to the Deluxe... it's $32.95/adult according to the cm i spoke with the other day...
we did the upgrade, but now i am rethinking it... for four of us for 9 nights, it's nearly $1200 to upgrade... that $1200 might be better spent by upgrading to concierge level instead...
We upgraded a few weeks ago! I am sooo excited. We've already made our ADRs for three sit down meals per day for 9 days!! I'm going to have to be rolled out of the park!! Here's my suggestion:
1. Decide what is most important to you. Do you care about a fancier room, more park options or more food? For us it was food!! We are staying at a Value resort so we can eat and stay longer. If you like food, then upgrade. If you don't think you will spend 3 meals per day sitting down and would rather stay out and play then don't upgrade. It's really a personal decision your family will have to make.
2. BEFORE you upgrade, call and see if you can get the ADRs you want. If you can't get in the restaurants you want and wind up eating counter service all of you meals then you should not upgrade. I know the ADRs are going fast so make your plan of where you will be what days and then decide where you want to eat and call....asap!
3. If you can get your ADRs and you really want to eat lots of food and enjoy the cool sit down time then UPGRADE!! Whoo hoo!
