Upgrade fail

I have been told so many ridiculous things by cm's and supervisors when trying to upgrade tickets. Not all guest relations personnel are created equally :(

Op, I have had the absolute best upgrading luck with the guest relations at the international gateway outside of Epcot. They have NEVER told me something that I knew was incorrect!!
you can ask 20 different cm's and get 20 different answers. calling Disney is the worst too. I was once told we could not get a grand villa for 10 people and we would have to do studios. I tried to explain to her and she didn't understand. I finally hung up called back got a different cm and booked my grand villa with no issues!

When I was upgrading to an AP, I first went to MK and was quoted a much higher price for the AP then I knew what it should be. I told them no thanks and went on my way. Then when I was at HS, I again asked the price to upgrade at guest services and it was the right price so I went ahead and upgraded. It was frustrating having to wait in multiple lines but I wasn't angry at the first CM. I don't think the CM was doing anything malicious but just doing what he thought was the right way to upgrade.

I called and asked a cast member before purchasing my 10 day park hopper and they said they would credit the 10 day toward the annual pass. Hope that still remains true when i get down there in september!!!

You can not be messaged from here on the dis, rct.
While not a "message" or "PM" function, we do have a "Conversation" feature that allows private user to user communications or even private group "Conversations".

Click on the member's "name" link under the image on the left of any post to the see the Member profile and in the pop-up window, select the "Start a Conversation" link, it will allow you to communicate directly.

I think Dan was saying it more as protection for RCT as a CM and not the function of the board. Just kind of looking out for them. Dan's been around since pretty much the begining so I would imagine the know how to message.

Hi Dave. I am aware of the conversation function, use it a lot. However, if a member does not want to have conversations or contact, it is not possible to contact them through the board functions.

In 2012 I tried to bridge my ticket at GS in DHS and was told no. I paid the, incorrect, difference because I needed it for my room discount and my TIW card. Went to Epcot the next day and GS in FW gave me the run-around. He even said "I know how much you paid for the ticket, it's in the computer". Except I had a receipt that showed my purchase price was higher than the credit they gave me at DHS! They finally bridged and refunded me the difference, but made sure I knew that they were doing me a favor.

If you check RCT's profile, you'll see that that can't be done. Not everyone allows it.

If a ticket is purchased directly from Disney (not part of a package, or from a reseller or outside vendor), at a standard gate price, it's not eligible to be price bridged (even after a price change). The computer actively won't do it through the standard procedure - we get a message like "ticket not eligible" or something, I don't recall the exact wording. (I tried it once just out of curiosity.)

If you recall the name of the coordinator, I'd love it if you could message it to me. If you don't remember or don't want to do that, it's no big deal, I'm just curious. :)

If you have plans to visit Epcot or DAK on your current trip, go to their ticket booths. I trust at least 75% of the people in ticketing at Epcot, and DAK in general tends to be good at knowing policy and performing complicated procedures. (Not that this is particularly complicated.)

I haven't worked at MK enough to know how good they are at anything, but it's worth a shot.[/QUOTE

Thank you I will be at Epcot for sure (like 3 times! ) I didn't get any names yesterday just asked and went on my way when they told me no as I have read many times in the dis that people had to try a few different times to get the correct quote.

I would not put much faith in what a call center CM tells you. Many of them have never set foot in the parks and simply make up answers when their answer should simply be "I'm not sure, let me see if I can find someone who can answer that for you."

Ill just say to the service center "your call center said that you can apply credit toward the upgrade" someone is screwing up somewhere if they can't do it.

The CMs in the park REALLY won't care what someone at the call center told you you could do.
So the cast member that I just got off the phone with, and the other that I got off of live chat with that said "you need to just show up to the ticket counter and present a photo ID"
That was complete, blatant lie thats also recorded on their end. Got it...

What the holy heck does showing ID have to do with upgrading to an AP? You show an AP when you're activating an AP you've already bought or renewed. Good luck with everything. I hope it all goes according to the plan the call center has laid out for you.

Yooouuuuu present a photo ID to prove you is you? Like when you pick up a ticket that you bought already. You're pretty cynical about this entire process. To clarify also I am not upgrading AN annual pass.....Im upgrading TO an annual pass so I'm not activating anything...

went to Hollywood studios today to upgrade our 8 day PHs to APs. We purchased before the price increase with a small military discount. CM and supervisor both refused to price bridge even after I asked and explained several times. Supervisor told me they used to price bridge but it is now against policy and they don't do it anymore and they would get in trouble if they did it. I thanked them and went on my way. I fully intend to try again tomorrow at MK and will continue to try until it either works or we don't purchase APs! Wish me luck!
Guest Services at Epcot price-bridged my Park Savers tickets last month. Worked like a charm! In and out in 15 minutes! I guess the CM "broke the rules", LOL! :rolleyes1
