Upgrade at POR?????

Hi! I was wondering what kind of upgrade could we have at POR if we are a family of 5??? I know that because we are 5 we have to be in Alligator Bayou section, but what kind of upgrade is possible????

I think the only upgrade would be the view...if you paid for a standard, you could get a water view. Other than that, I dont think there is any other upgrade possible there.

Either a quiet pool or the river. I've had a water view and it's not all that terrific. I wouldn't pay extra for it.

I feel that the better view with a moderate is not worth it either. You have the walkways right outside your window, which lead us to have our curtains closed pretty often. The only time to enjoy the view is when you are walking out the door. IMHO with a deluxe, the extra money for a water view is worth it, but not with a moderate. That being said, we are headed to POR in 5 weeks--standard view!!!

We are headed there in 5 weeks, too!!! We are so excited. It will be the first time we have taken the children.

We were just there mid September and when we checked in, we were told we had gotten a "slight" upgrade. (I faxed them a few days earlier to tell them it was our 10th anniversary and my first ever trip so maybe that helped). Anyway, I was a little surprised when we were given building 18 in AB since I had requested 14. It was still great and although I had read that it was smoking optional, I never saw or smelled any smoke! The only upgrade I can imagine we received was that we had a woods view not a parking lot and we were on the 2nd floor so hardly anyone walking around outside our room. I had also requested a corner room with 2 windows which I didn't get so I'm still not sure I actually got "upgraded" but it was nice nonetheless and we would not hesitate to stay there again. It was so quiet at night you could hear crickets! Bottom line- their idea of an upgrade was not mine, but any little bit helps. Hope that is useful to you!
