I have posted before about having three nights garden veiw and three nights lagoon veiw at the GF for September. Because I don't want to switch rooms in the middle of my stay, I am thinking about making all six nights the same veiw...... My question is this.

If I stick with my current reservation with three nights in each veiw, and I am reaaly happy with my garden veiw room the first three nights, can I request to stay in that room and receive a refund (the money I would have paid to stay lagoon veiw)?

If I make my reservation for all six nights in the garden room (with AP) and then decide to swith to lagoon room for part of my stay (after I already arrive at Disney), will the CM honor my AP rate or would I have to pay rack rate for the lagoon room?

You could stay in the Garden View only if there is availability. If the GF is heavily booked and that room has been assigned to someone else, you wouldn't be able to stay in that category. If you wanted to upgrade to Lagoon View, it's the same thing. If there was availability for your stay, you could upgrade.

I don't know if there's a set policy for charging for upgrades - it may just be the difference between the Garden View and Lagoon View categories at rack rate. I think it's up to the front desk manager to honor AP rates. As far as I know, the only entity that can charge promotional rates is CRO, but I'm sure that the manager has some wiggle room.
