Just confirming as I thought I read it. The upgrading discounted 3rd party tix to AP deal no longer works correct? Paid value of tix is known even if u use tix now correct?

Trying to decide if I want to get 10 day tix or AP this year and trying to figure out what $$ diff would be

Thx

Not true as of very recent threads.

They no longer bridge tickets sold by Disney directly (that's been true for some time now) but co it use to bridge 3rd party tickets to gate price when upgrading (provided they are used at least once).

Where are you reading that bridging isn't done?

People are still talking about it on theme parks, and I think Cheshire Figment is back and would have updated it if it changed.

But a grey area from the point of view of a normal guest is tickets purchased in a package. Not that that affects DVC people much, but still. :). So they do bridge from package tickets and from third parties. Just not from tickets purchased by someone calling, walking up, or going online to buy WDW tickets.

There was a false rumor in early 2014 that said bridging would be discontinued. It was reported by a reputable site which subsequently lost a lot of credibility.

I upgraded two Undercover Tourist tickets to APs on December 20th. We entered Epcot early afternoon, and later that evening upgraded at the International Gateway ticket booths. They were bridged and charged "correctly" without any fuss---the CM just did the "right thing" without me having to ask or check up on it.

I suppose that someday bridging could go away, but it hasn't as of a few weeks ago.

so can someone tell me, if i book free dining package (assuming I can get one this year!) where I have to buy a minimum 2 day ticket, but I dont use them because I have a DV AP, can I use the value of those unused tickets towards the purchase of a DVC discounted annual pass (at a later point, since I already have the APs for this year.)

yes.

(assuming the DVC AP discount is still in effect when you upgrade later.)

Thnak you! Do oyu if it has to be done in person, or can you do it if ordering the passes by phne? (Want to make sure I would still be able to book FPs ahead of time.)

In order to "price bridge" tickets (upgrade with the full current gate value), you have to use the ticket to enter the park at least once. So, you pretty much have to do it in person.
