Is it possible to upgrade just 1 night of our trip to the premium dining plan from our existing QSDP free dining?

What is the cost to do this? Would it allow us to go to Hoop-di-do as well as Cirque, possibly on different nights?

No.

First of all, you can't upgrade part of a reservation. The whole reservation has to have the same plan for all nights. You can make multiple reservations ("split stay") but note that you'' have to have separate park ticket purchases for each reservation if you want a dining plan on each.

Secondly, you can upgrade the free dining offers to DDP or DxDP, but not to Platinum or Premium.

So, you'd have to make a separate, 1-night reservation with a separate park ticket purchase to use Premium. (If you can find a room rate discount that will work with a single night stay, that may offset some of the cost issues.) Your Premium entitlements would be valid from your check-in until midnight following check-out, as normal, so you would be able to do HDDR and Cirque on separate nights with Premium entitlements.

Thanks for the info! I've heard of people doing the premium plan just for 1 night. So I could reduce my current stay by 1 night under existing plan and add 1 seperate night with premium but not sure if thats cost effective.

The $169 price for the premium plan includes a 1 day MYW single park enterance? I'll have to do the math to see what the best 1 night rate I can find for our resort and see if its cost effective over just buying OOP.

No, the park ticket is in addition to the $169 all-inclusive resort package price. Of course, an unused park ticket can always be kept for later use, given away to friends/relatives, etc. -- they don't expire (nor are they "bound" to an individual) until after they've actually been used.

True, plus don't you also have to pay rack rate for the room? I know I thought about doing the premium plan for one night, just for the tours and restaurants that are not included on the regular DDPs, but as an AP holder, paying rack rate for the rooms, having to buy a one day park ticket I don't need, plus $169.00 just didn't seem worth it.

Purchase of the Platinum or Premium plans requiring paying rack rate for your room, and a minimum ticket purchase (1 day, I believe). I looked that up for someone on Allears recently.
