Updates on the Eby's

Hi All-

Well, we have news, some good, some not so good.

We took MJ to the Neurologist last week because she has been seeing and hearing things that others around her are not, in essence, she is hallucinating, so they have put her on a drug called Risperidal. It is used to treat schizophrenia. Obviously a diagnosis can't be made yet, we'll have to wait years for that (if ever) but it is sobering having her put on the meds so young. Does anyone have experience with childhood schizophrenia?

She is rescheduled to go in for her MRI and EEG, that will happen on the 9th of January.

She will be put under general anesthesia for that. He also increased her seizure meds again trying to get her seizures more under control.

I will also be making a trip to the neurologist in Jan to try and get my migraines under control.

Now for the GOOD news!

WE GOT THE APARTMENT!!! Thursday we are going to pick up our address and rental info. For those of you who don't know, a month ago we applied to a rent controlled apt complex called Buena Vista Place. It is directly behind the Magic Kingdom at Disney World! (We'll see fireworks every night! LOL) The complex is only 6 years old, we have room for my washer and dryer (which have been in storage for a year), 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a brand new playground for MJ, and exercise room, pool, spa and close to all of our friends. Although I hate moving I am so excited! I'll finally be able to unpack all of my craft stuff, my kitchen is big enough for all of my stuff (no more appliances in the dining room!) I can cook again! Our move in dates are Jan 21 or therabouts (exact day depends on Andrew's days off and our help)

Andrew is enjoying his training and doing very well at it.

I am getting to meet a lot of folks from the various Disney boards I belong to and getting ready for my birthday. My birthday is going to be super special this year, I am getting to spend it with one of my bestest friends Lisa. She and her hubby are coming up from Miami and we are doing Disney with them for four days.

I think that is about all of the updates right now. I maybe scarce in the next month with packing and all. Happy holidays.

Thanks for the update. Sad to hear MJ may have more challenges but she has such great advocates in her wonderful parents!
Congratulations on the apartment. I'm sure it will be great to finally settle in and get life on track.

Hooray! I was hoping you'd get the apartment. I hope MJ"s new meds help and that the seizure meds she's on aren't the cause of the new problems! ---Kathy

I'm glad everything is going good. How is MJ responding to the meds? My son was on the same thing a few years ago and it made him sleep all day long so after a few doses we took him off.

That's great news about the apartment! I'm sorry about MJ though. I hope she does better soon.
