It will be a summer Sunday morning. Since it's a boys' trip, I can't guarantee they'll be there for rope drop, but let's say within 15 minutes of RD. The must-do list is:
-- BTMRR
-- Star Tours
-- Indy
-- Matterhorn
-- Pirates
-- Space Mtn.
-- Splash

They will be leaving DL sometime after lunch. I could see going straight to Space and then Star Tours, then maybe pulling FP for Indy and ride BTMRR? Then head to Matterhorn and then hopefully back to Indy, Splash and then Pirates? It's two tweens and dad, so they can move fast! Is this feasible? Thanks!

four hours, yes indeed, but save matterhorn for last and do single rider if out of time on matterhorn. That double walk across the hub could make the difference

You can certainly get them all done in the morning. FPs early have early return times so you can get a FP for two or three of them before lunchtime possibly.

Pirates I wouldn't rush to because even when it has a long line it goes really fast so that might be last on the list.

Space should be high on the list to do first but so should Indy.

BTMRR is another that is easy to get on.

Matterhorn doesn't have FP so you may need to do that before space.

Of course another option is single rider for MH. You and your boys may not ride together but you will get it done much faster and won't need to worry about how long the line is.

Splash also has a single rider line I believe.

Indy can have a single rider line but usually only when it's really busy so they don't always allow it on that one.

FPs progress quickest on Space and Indy with Star tours probably third. So if you want to use FP for any of those do that very early.

Your plan seems pretty good.

Space
Star Tours
FP Indy
Big Thunder
Matterhorn
Indy

Splash/Pirates

The line for Matterhorn has been so long lately I think I would do that first:

-Matterhorn
-Space Mountain (pull FP if wait is too long and circle back if necessary)
-Star Tours
-Indy (FP if wait is long to return to BTMRR)
-Big Thunder
-Pirates
-Splash (single rider if line is too long)

My guess is that if they arrive close to opening the waits for the first several rides will only be 15-30 minutes at most. I like water rides last plus it should be hot by that time. :)

I would start in tomorrowland, grab FP for Star Tours on the way by, do Space Mountain standby. FP return time should be really soon for Star tours, but if it isn't time, do matterhorn single rider. Then I would go to fronteirland and grab a FP for big thunder. As you wait for that, you can pop over and do Indy Single Rider, it will definitely be running on a Sunday in the summer. I got in the single rider twice last Sunday. In the morning it was really quick, but later on that single rider line clogs up, so I would still do it early. You can go on Pirates because it is right there as well. Then go do Big Thunder Mountain, but if the time isn't up yet, they can also just hop in Splash Single rider! Easy peasy :)

This looks a lot like our do to list when we go. We go on Sundays and hit the park at opening. This is our usual queue.
Grab a FP for Star Tours and ride Space.
Matterhorn-has been pretty crazy lately due to the enhancements.
Ride Star Tours
Pick up a FP for BTMRR then ride POTC
Now things may or may not be lining up. If our return time for BTMRR isn't up yet we will ride HM. If it is up we GET A FP for INDY then ride BTMRR. One of the misunderstandings about the FP system is that you can not have 2 FPs at the same time. You can get another FP before you use one if you wait until your return time/2hour requirement.
Now depending on my Indy return time I will do Splash single rider.

For us we can usually accomplish this all before 11. The monkey wrench is if a ride goes down

I agree with Calilou's order of riding just because matterhorn is newly remodeled...and also hit the single rider line to save some time. I personally like to clump rides based on what land I'm in to cut down on traveling back in forth. I wouldn't worry about Big thunder and Pirates so much. Splash is hit or miss but single rider is an option, and if you must, pull a fast pass.

If you don't mind doubling back a bit, the splash mountain fast passes have a tendency to have a short wait since it's all the way at the entrance, common to get them with a short wait, so this would be the order I would do. ST Fast Pass, Ride SM, go back for ST, Single Rider Matterhorn, BTMRR, Grab Splash Fastpass, Indy, Pirates, Use Splash fastpass.

On Ridemax using July 24 (Friday, height of summer) as a model, I got this:

8:15am Runner Get Indiana Jones FASTPASS

8:23am Matterhorn Bobsleds

8:47am Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

8:58am Send Runner to Get Splash Mountain FASTPASS

9:03am Runner Get Splash Mountain FASTPASS

9:12am Pirates of the Caribbean

9:34am Indiana Jones (use FASTPASS)

9:49am Send Runner to Get Star Tours FASTPASS

9:57am Runner Get Star Tours FASTPASS

10:20am Splash Mountain (use FASTPASS)

10:42am Send Runner to Get Space Mountain FASTPASS

10:55am Runner Get Space Mountain FASTPASS

11:00am Star Tours (use FASTPASS)

11:18am Free Time

1:50pm Space Mountain (use FASTPASS)

I would start at one end of the park and work my way over. In fact, this is how I've done it almost every time when I shoot for only the "big" rides. And, if you get there at rope drop, you can usually even accomplish this all before noon without fastpasses. Space Mtn. and Matterhorn will have the longest lines by the time you get to them using this method, but you can either grab a fp for Space, then do Matterhorn and come back, or wait for Space Mtn. and do single rider line for Matterhorn.

-- Indy
-- Splash
-- Pirates
-- BTMRR
-- Star Tours
-- Space Mtn.
-- Matterhorn

I can't really comment on your ride order, but just wanted to suggest riding Splash as a group instead of single rider since it would be fun to have a ride photo of your group all together. The photos are usually really good for this ride. Have fun!!!

You guys are the best! Thanks so much. I hadn't taken into account the line at Matterhorn. And I agree -- single rider can be fabulous, but the boys will probably want to ride at least some of the rides together.

Tanz, it's fun to see the RideMax suggestion. Maybe just for kicks I"ll have DH follow this one and report back to you guys what time they started and what time they finish.

I appreciate it, DISers!

I would start at one end of the park and work my way over

I would 100% agree with beachdreamr1229 philosophy with one caveat. Even though it would mean doubling back I would move Splash Mountain to the very end, if you get soaked its no fun walking around like that.

I would personally go towards tomorrowland, pull a FP for Star Tours, hit Space, then Matterhorn (if long single rider it), and Star Tours. Then grab a FP for BTMRR, do Indy then Pirates, grab FP for Splash possibly, back to BTMRR, and finally Splash. Obviously this all depends on return times but on a Sunday morning very doable. You could switch Indy and Pirates depending on wait times but that side of the park is what most people hit first so by the time they get there it should have lightened back up. Indy has a great single rider line if it is open. Splash also does but it is really slow.

This is the order I would do them in:

Matterhorn (in any scenario, start here - no FPs and LONG lines!)
FP Space
Ride ST
(depending on return time of Space)
ride/FP Indy
ride Big Thunder
ride Pirates
ride Splash
(fit Indy return time in where it falls).

I think the FP for space and indy will be the key, if the return time is too far out and you can't get the other one soon enough. And indy can randomly go down for hours at a time. If either of them have under 30 minute waits I would get in line and have a runner get a FP for the other.
Otherwise
start with a runner getting indy FP
matterhorn
star tours
(depending on indy FP return, grab space FP while still in tomorrowland)
ride indy using FP
ride pirates
ride BTMRR
ride splash
ride space (maybe before splash if you don't want to be wet in space)
eat

The variable will be what time you can grab that space FP depending on the indy fp and what return time it has.

I'd plan on Matterhorn single rider. With the set up of the bobsleds, it's not like you get anything out of being in the same sled. The Matterhorn line could already be quite long if they're there 15 minutes after rope drop.

I would do them by land and usually the first ones to fill up and get long are space mountain and star tours rides. so I would go through tomorrow land and then hit adventure land and walk on up to splash mountain. the line for that wont be too long if you go early enough. Have Fun!

They went this morning. Here's how it went:

They got through the gates right after 8. Went to Space to pull FP, but it was down. Went straight to Matterhorn. No one was at single rider so they went straight on (DH: "Man, that ride is a teeth rattler!"). Went back to Space -- it was open and they walked straight on. Over to Star Tours, waited 5 minutes (and DS's friend, who is rarely able to go to Dland, was chosen as the rebel spy!).

Went and grabbed FP for Indy -- It was around 8:50, and FP was for 9:40 - 10:40. Rode BTMRR (ten minute wait). Walked on to Pirates. Indy down.

Visited Haunted Mansion, no wait. Went to Splash intending to get FP but instead walked right on. DS commented that when they got off, the line was building up.

Then headed to have a Dole Whip at the Tiki Room. Strolled over to Small World, walked right on.

Ate lunch (this is still before noon).

Circled back to Indy and it was back up! Success!

Then visited Pirate Island. Left Disney at 1:30.

So considering this was a Sunday during the summer, pretty impressive! Thanks to all of you for your thoughtful comments. I think going straight to Matterhorn was key!
