***************We've got some great interest, let's get those addy's in to me by 2/20 so we can get these pages rolling! This will be fun! *****************************

Okay, I am back from WDW and I think I have a handle on the whole laundry, bills, unpacking thing! Before I left, there was a thread about Trading Pages and I said when I returned I would see if people were interested in trying this.

We did this one other time, as organized by PattyT, who did a great job! The way it worked then was people expressed there interest, names were randomly shuffled around and then you were provided with the name and address of the person to whom you would send your photos.

You would send your photos to your assigned person with some detail on the event to be scrapped in a 2 page layout. You would also specify what type of SB you used, 12x12, 8 1/2 x 11, top loading, strap hinge (like CM), etc. I think we also set a spending limit on the pages of $15 or so, am I right?

Anyway, it was a lot of fun! If you are interested please PM me your address and I will see what kind of interest we get. I think it probably makes sense to have about 10 or so of us swapping, to make it interesting, but we'll see how it goes......if you have any other thoughts or ideas on how to make this fun, feel free to post them

I'm definitely interested. I had so much fun with this last year. Whoever I get will probably serve as a guinea pig though. ;) I'm heading off to CKU-Nashville in less than 3 weeks and I hope to come home with lots of new ideas and techniques.

This sounds like a kool idea. Depending on when it needs to be done I may want to do this.

I guess I would just like to add that no one should send precious, one-of-a-kind, irreplaceable photos. Things can happen in the mail, as we all know!! ...............................P

Could you please post when they would need to be done. My scrap room is soon to be under construction. A due date will help me decide. Thanks.
Janine

Okay, I gonna try this too.... Check your PM with my address... Thanks for hosting.

Good point. Probably a good idea to use duplicates, etc so that the photos are not destroyed or lost.

As for a deadline, what do you ladies think? If we get all the names assigned by the end of February at the latest, how is April 1st for a deadline? More time? I am flexible.......

:bounce: WELCOME BACK! :bounce:

I'm in. I will PM you with my address - hope to see you soon!

Can I ask what people's expectations are in terms of complexity of LO, etc...? I can't scrap like in the magazines, but I think I do a nice job...Am I disqualified?

Mcnuss -

Dont worry about your level of experience. Last time we had such varying levels and styles. In fact, you might even use it as an opportunity to try a product or technique you never have before. Dont let what you see in magazines scare you away from trying this. Most of us dont scrap to be published and things arent exactly perfect....that's the fun of it being a scrapbook, its all made by hand.

Please, join us!

Mcnuss you should definitely join the fun!

Last time I sent pages of my DD's choir concert to someone who didn't have kids and she sent back an awesome set of pages - used ribbon in a way I never would have thought to without adding bulk. I remember we shared some of our general approach issues - like not using a great deal of bulk, etc with the person who had our pages.

I had a great set of 1970s WDW trip pictures to work with and experimented with some unusual colors and mixing vellums in, etc. Perfect? Publication quality? Not based what I see! But wonderful all the same to play with and to receive!

Jump in with us!
Deb

Ok, this sounds like fun, I'm in, too! I've got pictures just calling out to be scrapped!

I will try. I am a conservative scrapper, but if you will have me I am in.
