It looks like they changed the itinerary on Disney's website. When I booked it included St. John, Newfoundland. Now it is showing St. John, New Brunswick! What a bummer if that's the case.
We wanted to go to Newfoundland.

EDITED TO ADD: SEE NEW POST BELOW

I think it was always Saint John NB. I was going to book the cruise because I thought it was going to St. John's NF, I had read the itinerary on another site and they had listed St. John's Newfoundland. When I went to book it I realized the error, and decided not to book That was within the first couple days after the bookings opened.

We booked this on June 6, and my notes indicate Saint John NB as a port.

Yeah, my original booking says St. John, Newfoundland! Dang it! I think they made a typo and never intended to go to Newfoundland. bait and switch.....bait and switch

We've been to St. John, NB but did a city tour on the hop on/hop off. This time we can go to Bay of Fundy anyway.

I did send Disney an email about it. We wanted to do a new province!

Was the tour good?

You are right though! My original booking stats St John's and then when I had a second copy sent through due to a small change it says Saint John. I actually hadn't twigged there were 2 different ones up North until you mentioned it.

Yes. We saw a lot and even were able to come back to the ship at one point and dump stuff and have lunch and then go back out again.

SOOOOO, I heard back from Disney in response to my email:

I sincerely regret the disappointment you have expressed. It is not our
intent to upset our loyal Disney Cruise Line Guests.

There has not been any change to the itinerary for your sailing. There
was a website error that caused the wrong information to be displayed
online. Our website team has corrected this issue.

Your sailing will be calling on St John's, Newfoundland and not St.
John, New Brunswick.

I am thrilled that they are indeed going to Newfoundland, but feel bad for the people who decided not to book because the website said New Brunswick. Here is the link to the updated itinerary:

I'm really happy with next year's WBTA itinerary as this year's only has one new port for us -- and next year we are stopping at four ports instead of there. YAY

Sure enough, it is changed. We don't care. Haven't been to either.

Yeah, we weren't going to cancel or anything because there is other stuff to do in St. John, NB. We've been to Cadiz, but did an excursion to Seville. So this time we'll just stay in Cadiz. Just wish it were a couple of more nights (love those days at sea) LOL.

Interesting we wanted to go to Newfoundland, not New Brunswick. We might be booking this after all.

I know -- I remember your previous post and felt bad that you didn't book because of the wrong port being listed. When I responded to Disney's email I told them they may have lost some bookings because of that error :confused3

EDITED TO ADD: Just heard from my TA and she said she went back over the papers back to May 25th and the port name changed twice! And now it says Newfoundland again. Hopefully now they will stop tweaking it LOL

Rotfl! Well I had no preference but this means I need to relook at excursions!

They don't have a lot listed right now, I think two, but neither does Cadiz!

Does anyone know if this is the first time Disney is going to Newfoundland?

I haven't been to either, but I'm curious what the difference is between the two?

Haven't been to St. John's yet, but going by what I've read and pictures I've seen, St. John's, NF seems to be more isolated, rustic and rugged; St. John, NB has it's rugged shore (Bay of Fundy for instance), but also has a lovely town full of history and is more populated -- and way more popular with cruises to and from Canada/New England; whereas St. John's NF is usually only reached by cruises doing transatlantic (at least I've never seen it on a regular itinerary doing Canada/New England).

You can see Cadiz port adventures under the Med/ North Atlantic cruises. Don't know if we will have access to all of them but it gives some ideas. Lisbon is there, too.

They were meant to go there on last years EBTA but the port was cancelled I believe. Not sure that they've been there since though

Newfoundland has Signal Point where Marconi did his first telephone transmission across the ocean (well at least that's what I think it is). But that's the only thing I know about Newfoundland. NB one had some sort of backwards flowing water vortex near the city that is world famous.

We saw that -- it's pretty cool.

Thank you for your response! I'm excited about this cruise! :flower1:
