Updated May Hours

DANGER, WILL ROBINSON!

Use the WDW calendar only at your own risk.

;)

I only say that because EVERY TIME i rely on a calendar from another website, it has been wrong one way or another. In my own experience, the "official" calendar on the Disney website has never let me down.

so the travel agent site has MK opening at 8 on the 6th and 7th of May and Disney website doesn't show that. Those 2 days are grad nights so I am hoping they will open at 8...what do you all think?? Which calender should I go with??

When there's a discrepancy between those two, it is far safer to assume that the WDW site is WRONG.

And, there are many of us here who deal with calendar issues day-after-day, year-after-year.

While no calendar is ever 100% correct, the TA site consistently offers the latest info available.

The Disney site (since late in 2009) is one of the least accurate and one of the (if not THE) last to be updated.

Sad, but true.

Each year we go around Mothers day, and every yr it has gotten busier. The crowd calendar always seemed a litle off to me while other times of the yr it is more accurate.
It syas 5,6's and I will expect 6 to 8 and I bet I will be correct. The times being added are great, this gives people more time so hopefully a little less rushed. We also like to do some nights at th parks, so this is ok by me.

Wow, now this has me a little worried. We will be there from the 5th to the 14th and picked this week because we were told, and read, that it was a great time to go. We have never been in May, we are more of a September family but wanted to go to celebrate both of our DD's birthdays. I am glad I am finding this all out now, so we can be prepared.

Ugh. Was super excited about 8:05 am ADR at CP since the MK WAS opening at 9 am.
Same here. I thought I lucked out scoring the 8:10 am ADR at CP when we booked 60 days out. (Someone must have cancled at I was looking the first time, never since.) Now, I'm going to cancel it. It would just put me in the mad dash instead of the "empty" Kingdom sceen.

Because we'll be there! lol Seriously, every time we plan to go when the crowds are supposed to be low, it turns out to be the opposite. Last year during the second week of May, TP had crowd levels of 3 ... this year they're showing 6's. Soooo frustrating!!

So stay home so the crowd will go down:rotfl: That is the same time we will be there. I didn't know it was Mothers day when I booked. It was just a time when the Grandson had a day off from school so would miss less and his Mom would miss less work.

Where do you find the crowd level numbers?

We are going to be at MK on May 7th. I am hoping to find out for sure about an 8:00 am opening. We will not be on site until May 9th... so I am not sure how I will know for sure??? I guess I can ask at Guest Relations at Animal Kingdom the day before?

We're going the 18th - 26th and they have added a ton of Fantasmic! showings for that time. We were planning to hit HS one evening JUST to wait in line for the show, so I think this will be a good thing. It should spread the crowds over several nights of two shows each, instead of just 3 nights of single shows.

Other than that, the expanded park hours don't change anything for us. I'll probably schedule an AK evening one evening, since the park looks so different at night, so that's another bonus!

There are no longer any evenings (after dark) offered at DAK.

If I recall correctly (I'm at work now so I don't have my Disney folder with me) they extended park closing at AK a couple of nights. I thought to 8pm but maybe it was only 7pm.

It won't be dark by then.

Sunset at WDW is about 8:15 in late May.

DIS calendar does not reflect the changes yet. I like their format since I can only print one page and have all I need. Guess, I'll have to print the TA calendar.

Anyone have a good idea of if / when they might finish updating May's hours? We are going 5/28 - 6/5 so as of now, only have updated hours for the first day. Trying to figure out how this might change our plans..

Also, when they add a 2nd Fantasmic! show, will that typically open up more Fantasmic dinner package reservations? Having been trying to get dinner at Mama Melrose on the package forever...

Thanks!

17 days away and now this is making me a bit nervous! No plans need to be changed but im definitely afraid of larger crowds.

My though is that they are opening earlier since the park closes at 7:00 for grad nights Friday and Saturday.

Now that I'm done freaking out - has TP updated their May calendar? It's still showing the same #s for me which makes me happy but I'm still nervous. We are just going on a short trip but I was hoping for decent crowds - oh well, make the best out of it, I guess.

I got emails concerning my trip May 1-7.

Is this site really reliable for time changes? Just wondering how much we should bank on these hours actually being true...

No calendar is 100% accurate at all times.

Stay tuned.

There are still weeks before the actual dates arrive.
