UPDATED: IT'S HAPPENING!! Star Wars, Toy Story officially coming to DHS! Plus new Soarin'!

I just realized something. What will become of TOY STORY PIZZA PLANET?

I legit love the pizza there (it's fine for quick service, alright?!)
Do you guys think they will make a better, revamped one wherever Toy Story land will go, or leave Pizza Planet where it is? (Though, I'd imagine they can use that building for something star wars related).

Pizza Planet should be like the movies an interactive arcade experience with a restaurant almost like Dave and Busters or Chuck E Cheese if they wanted to go all out...it feels just so cheap

Star Wars Land:

In total there will be 3 attractions, the first phase of WWOHP had 3 attractions. So it is in line with their main measuring stick. The artists impressions of what it is going to look like make it look amazing. But the description of the rides is less then stellar. You would expect one E ticket ride in this new area, so hopefully the 2nd attraction is something more intense and interesting. I am not the hugest fan of Star Wars, but this looks promising and hopefully it will have some good eateries and shopping to compliment the new world being created..

Unless I'm forgetting something, the first phase of WWOHP has one new attraction (Forbidden Journey). The other 2 rides in that area were already there. They just renamed and re themed them.

I don't get the whole "but it's not Disney or it doesn't feel like Disney" thing. Magic Kingdom is the only thing that is truly, truly Disney. What does Everest, or Soarin or Rock n Roller Coaster or the safarai ride have to do with "Disney"? And pretty much nothing at Epcot or Animal Kingdom is "Disney" but people have no problem going to those and love those just the same.

So yeah I don't get that argument AT ALL. Star Wars is no more Disney than countless attractions and areas now that people already enjoy.

If you want to be immersed in only "Disney" than you should just stay at Magic Kingdom because Walt had a vision that extended beyond more than just his beloved characters.

I am both Excited AND disappointed !?

Very cool that they are building this stuff, and the look of the new rollercoaster in Toy Story land looks like its pretty big, that would be great !

I am a little disappointed though that in 25 Acres of land they are only adding 4 new attractions. Of course they are adding places to eat, and I would bet a bunch of shops as well, basically a bunch of places to spend money, more squeeze on the pocket books of customers.

And of course we have to recognize the things already closed at DHS and I do wonder if anything else will be closing to make room for these expansions.

Any theories or speculation as to where TSMM might be located in or around this picture? This concept art is much more flushed out than the Star Wars Land ones, so I'm trying to wrap my head around where this might land in the park.

Toontown will be used. The existing TT will be completely razed and the new Land put in there.
I thought so, too, but this LATimes article says otherwise:
http://www.latimes.com/entertainmen...tar-wars-themed-lands-d23-20150815-story.html
The new land is targeted to replace Disneyland’s Big Thunder Ranch and take over backstage areas currently not accessible to guests, a company spokesperson said, adding that speculation “Star Wars” would replace or impinge on Mickey's Toontown was unfounded.

Some have suggested it's the bottom left buildings
And that TSMM will be entered from the "back" of its current building.

I wonder if that works better with fireworks, as currently TSMM has to close ~45min before Frozen fireworks.

Have you been to the one in Paris? It's soooo awesome. It actually closer to resembling the one from the movie. It's dark and more spread out.
I didn't care for their pizza, though (compared to floridas one).

But if they can make it look like the Paris one, they've got a winner on their hands.

I think rather than video games, they have playground-type sets of toy story toys, though.

That's certainly how I interpreted the rendering. It looks to me like the large red open toy box in the middle left will be the new queue entrance. The building attached to it (which might possibly be the old wardrobe department building you drove through on the Backlot Tour) will be most of the queue area. As you make your way through there you will likely make your way up to the bridge over to the large blurry building under the Toy Story Land logo which is the actual ride buildiing. In this case you would exit through the toy barn in the middle bottom edge of the rendering which would serve the "exit through a gift shop" Disney methodology.

Epcot and AK are very Disney like, at least to me. Epcot was Walt's vision of a future world. I think the theme is pretty spot on with Future World and the World Showcase. AK is also very Disney like in the sense that it focuses on nature and wildlife which Walt was very fond of (Wonderful World of Disney).

And although I don't necessarily have a problem with Star Wars, the first Star Wars movie came out in 1977, 11 years after Walt died. So the people who don't consider it Disney aren't really wrong. I've never seen Star Wars as being Disney and probably never will. But I'll still enjoy it of course.

Anyone concerned that the Toy Story Land is just going to be a place for little kids to run around and get splashed with water or something along those lines?

Not at all. There's plenty of room for that kind of thing, but I think its also going to have something that attracts adults as well.

Yep, and actually both HP Lands combined only added 1 each plus the train between them.

But the "theming" mentioned is what makes them amazing. Star Wars appears to be doing that as well.

More attractions can be added (like Ministry of Magic) once these lands are active.

I will believe it when I see it. Only two rides announced and no clear ride/area for adults in that picture.

Yup I feel like Disney is breaking these into separate age groups. Star Wars will lean more towards the adults, TSM Land for little kids, and AvatarLand somewhere in between.
