After several phone calls and emails trying to get a 'copyright release waiver' for our upcoming cruise pictures I have decided
to post the latest address for those interested to save you the hassle.;)

http://www.image.com/guest-postcruise.htm

Once you click your appropriate cruise ship link, there is an authorization letter from "Image Photo Services" waiver to copy your cruise portraits or have those Christmas cards made.

Yes, some of you have said 'you have no problems getting all the copies you need.' However, there can be as much as a $500 fine for not having a copyright release.:(

Hope you find this info helpful :teeth:

Has anyone tried this yet? Everytime I click on Disney Magic at this website, nothing happens and then the website freezes up and won't do anything else?

thank you so much..........I had e-mailed them a week or so ago and received no answer.....now I'm off to make copies!!;)

Thankyou, 4nana. I got my release which also reminds me to actually go and get the copies. Thanks again

mog, the link is for an Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) file. If you've downloaded the free Adobe Acrobat reader program from Adobe (www.adobe.com) it should have installed an inline reader for your browser. It takes several moments while the Acrobat Reader opens, downloads the file, and then processes it for display.

With PDF files, I typically download it to my hard drive and then open it with the Acrobat Reader rather than doing it within my web browser. Seems easier (for me, anyway).

Before our 1/01 Magic cruise we were told we didn't need to obtain a copyright release due to the fact that they don't save the negatives. I took a couple of our formal pictures to my local Wal-mart and had copies made, no problems whatsoever.

Did you check out THIS PAGE of their site? Sounds like their Anniversary Package (and price for ALL that you receive) on a cruise are better than the usual Shutters offering, doesn't it??

. . . AND a silver frame . . . AND champagne! WOW!

Terrific! I'm one of those who has never had a problem although would prefer a waiver. On past cruises I had received the same info as Chattyaholic. I'm guessing DCL is doing this because some folks have had a problem.

Let's face it - Disney in ALL its forms wants you showing off those pics so more people come. Just don't infringe on their characters without license!

Dave,
I do have Adobe Acrobat reader software and that is usually how it works - a box pops up asking if I want to open it or save it to hardrive, then it downloads the file and displays it. For some reason that is not happening on this website! It looks like it is downloading something because a little bar goes across the bottom of my screen (very quickly - just a split second) then it says "document done" and that is all. Then the site freezes up, I can't scroll down and look at anything else or click on anything else. I even looked on my hard drive to see if it downloaded the pdf file somewhere - can't find anything! I thought maybe it was a problem with the website, but if others aren't having any problem it must just be some kind of glitch with my computer. (figures!) I will just have to e-mail them and ask them to send me the form. Good thing I still have plenty of time!!
thanks!

mog: This is typically a glitch in the reader's online utility.

Try right clicking on the link to the form, then left click on "Save Targe As" from the popup menu. this will bring up the "Save As" window, select your drive and folder you wish to save the PDF file in, left click the "Save" button and that should save it locally on your PC. Start Acrobat Reader then open the file from the location you saved it at and you should get it.

I believe you can also get this release form when you check in at the port. When I was checking in last September, the family next to me inquired and the CM gave them the form. That may have changed, but it is worth asking!

Thank you all for being so helpful! The right-clicking on the link trick worked and I now have it all printed out. Thank goodness there are people in this world who know a lot more about computers than I do!! I'd be lost otherwise.
Thanks again!

Thank you. We took our pictures to our local grocery store (WEGMANS) and they would only let us make copies from the pictures that DID NOT have DISNEY anywhere on the picture. We coul d get copies of the pics taken on Castaway cay, in the restuarants etc. but not of the one when we first came on the ship (I think there was a life preserver with Disney Wonder on it ) or the ones that were taken with the captain or the posed ones taken by what looks like the rail of the ship (again that darn life preserver). I am going to bring a copy of the release and make copies galore for the Grandparetns!! THanks again!

Ah, Wegman's! I couldn't remember the name of that store. I visited Rochester on business several times a few years ago and was really impressed by that store... especially the big one on Monroe Avenue heading out towards Pittsford!
