No, those are not nationwide chains.

I don't know where you live, but Kroger sells Target gc's online, during 4x fuel you'll earn points. It's free to sign up for an account without getting a new credit card.
Where Can You Earn Kroger Fuel Points?
You can earn Kroger fuel points at Kroger and its affiliate stores. That includes the following:
  • Dillons
  • Food 4 Less
  • Fred Meyer
  • Fred Meyer Jewelers
  • Fresh Eats MKT
  • Fry’s
  • King Soopers
  • Kroger
  • Mariano’s
  • Pick ‘n Save
  • QFC
  • Ralphs
  • Roundy’s
  • Ruler Foods
  • Smith’s
Points earned at one of those chains can be redeemed at the gas station of another chain because the same account can be used at all those chains.

Where Can I Redeem Fuel Points?
You can redeem fuel points at any gas station attached to a Kroger store or a store of one of its affiliates such as King Soopers, Ralphs, etc. Kroger has a partnership with Shell, although you’re limited as to how many fuel points you can redeem per fill-up at Shell gas stations – see the next section for more details.

There are various gas station/convenience store chains around the country that are also affiliated with Kroger where you can redeem your points for savings on gas. That includes Loaf ‘N Jug, Kwik Shop, Turkey Hill and more.

I'm not sure why I would want to do this, when none of these stores are in our area.
If I buy at 10% off through Target, I save 10% on all my groceries that I buy until the card is gone.

If you purchased $250 Target gc's during 4x fuel, you'll save 14% when filling up 2 cars at the same time up to 35 gallons. 10% vs 14%, I'll take the 14%

I buy Target gc there to purchase groceries as well.
Anyway

And where would I fuel up? We don't have any Krogers, or their affiliates in our area. And I spend a lot more on groceries than gas, since I work at home.

Sorry, this deal might not work for you then, we're always :drive:

You gotta read that article, several gas stations even out of state.
Someone recently posted when on vacation they saved $1.10 per gallon of gas. It's worth looking into.

Sorry - the Target deal is just for Target gift cards - not Disney GCs.

There is a Target Circle offer, is that what you're referring to otherwise the 10% discount is for Target gift cards.

If you have the Target Circle offer, you can buy Disney eGift Cards to earn rewards.

Once you get the emails from Target (with Disney egift cards), you would load them to physical (plastic) Disney gift cards. Go here for step by step instructions and includes pictures.

Ugh. Swagbucks deactivated my account for some reason. I literally don't do anything but play some games on there. I'd had 2 big ones the last month so I was trying to cash out $25 at a time per month to get my extra%. Theres over 100 on my account. I'm going to be pissed if I don't get it back.

This is not new, they've done this to a few DISer's who had serious money in play. I don't recall if they ever got their accounts back open. Anyone?
So what's happened? Has anyone reached out?

I haven't heard a thing yet.

Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat. Literally none of these store exist in my town. :(

The main focus was purchasing Target gift cards (or any gift card) online at Kroger during 4x fuel points or other promotions and fueling up at stand alone gas stations. You don't need to have these grocery stores in your area, you just need the gas stations. These stand alone gas stations like Shell or BP may have their own restrictions when using Kroger fuel points but you'll never know what they are if you don't look into it.

We live in Michigan and would buy Visa/Mastercard gift cards at Kroger during 4x fuel, then buy Universal gift cards at Giant Eagle online earning more fuel rewards. While in Michigan we would fuel up saving $35+. When DH was traveling to Ohio, he would use Giant Eagle fuel rewards and they too have several locations. Granted this was double dipping but they allowed it. The policy has since changed and Giant Eagle no longer sells Universal gift cards online. DH now travels to Canada, so we're looking for yet another double dipping alternative.

Those are good ideas for sure, but I also have none of those Kroger-affiliates here in Mass. Or anywhere in New England AFAIK. The deals make sense but I'm still a little reluctant to get involved with an out of state grocery chain that I can't visit physically to rectify a problem. Maybe that's silly-- especially in this day and age where everything can be remedied online-- but I prefer to stick to national (Target) or my local (Stop & Shop) chains.

Yep, I totally understand the concern with physical gift cards not being activated as well as long shipping times. Egift cards might fair better.
Anyway, it's just a thought, something to keep in mind if looking for ways to expand your savings. Definitely not a one size fits all scenario. And I'm very pleased we're all able to discuss this amicably. Thanks everyone for your feedback! :grouphug:

I'm sure some of you older DISer's remember Points to Neverland website,
I didn't know they shut down on Aug 17th. Mark & Erin opened shop in April 2016 sharing what they learned on how to use rewards for travel in general, and applied their knowledge to find the best ways to save on Disney vacations.

Points to Neverland would often refer to the DIS Boards original Disney Gift Card thread as their source of information and vice versa. There was mutual respect and it helped many. Here's their last entry on Facebook:

After five years, we've decided to close down Points to Neverland. We've enjoyed sharing what we learned about using points for Disney vacations, and we've learned so much from you all as well.

Thanks for making this such a fun project for us. We have a lot of great memories we couldn't have had without you.

To Mark & Erin, Thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication in helping us save money for our trips. We wish you the best of luck! :flower3:

Still lost. So anyone can do this, none of the stores listed actually matter? So I buy Target gift cards online and then I can get some kind of promotion to fill up at a Shell or BP? Like a discount or something? Is it only BP or Shell? We don't have BP, but we do have a few Shell.

Correct! ::yes::

You gotta read the post by GC Galore

Again I live in Michigan and have shopping cards/reward accounts with Safeway and Giant Eagle. All it took was a phone call and they mailed me their plastic reward card NOT credit card.

Let's take this one step further, I understand the concerns as mentioned previously but those who open a BJ's account to buy bulk Disney gift cards and do not have a BJ's near them can run into the same issues. It has been reported here, some DGC were not activated. BJ's resolved the issue as will Kroger.

Lastly, I must include Kroger DP's:
