I want to take the opportunity to say the following to @FoxC63 - Mind. Blown. What an amazing job you have done on this thread with the organization and deals. I just want you to know you have my utmost appreciation for what you have put together here. I’m a regular on the credit card thread. Never could follow or keep up with the previous gift card thread. Imagine my surprise to see such a beautifully organized place to learn about the deals and save. So thank you for the time and effort you have given to this thread and the budget board community!

@FoxC63 I wonder if it's something as simple as a note in the Discount District that says:
Stores X, Y, Z carry Disney GCs
And another that says:
Gift Cards to A, B, C, & D have been successfully converted to Disney cards but your mileage may vary

And for BJs or CC deals just link to the post?

And then just have everything else in the post as is. Because I think everyone in this thread for the most part is enjoying the deals for stores other than Disney. No matter what way you slice it, it still saves you money.

I think the reason that a lot of people are confused/upset is if you go back to the old thread, the reason given for moving to the new thread was
"There's a lot of content in this thread that is plain dead."

But all of a sudden the new thread is totally different throwing in deals for all types of gift cards. Why can't we have 2 separate threads, one specifically for Disney gift cards which is what the old thread was for?

They used to many moons ago but I think they've since stopped. However Old Navy GCs can be used at any stores owned by Gap (i.e. Old Navy, Banana Republic, Athleta, etc.)

The sister stores definitely don't. I have heard of people doing Old Navy>Amazon but it's YMMV.

It's definitely not a conversion strategy I would prioritize, or spend money on. If you get an Old Navy card as a gift and can't use it you can try but don't spend money on it. It's extremely hit or miss. And I'd say 90% of the time it's a miss.

I'm largely a "consumer" on this thread. I am interested in the gift card deals but don't necessarily have much to contribute here. I've always attempted to read this thread but the old format was so hard to follow, I always felt lost. I do like the indexed info at the beginning of this thread a lot and it's renewed my interest in the topic actually

And I am not even the one who actually complained, I was just explaining why I understood the other people who were upset. They are upset because the original thread was specifically for Disney and this one is for all gift cards. I think the point people were asking was why did you have to shut the thread that was already there down?

Like amex there isn't necessarily any rhyme or reason to the cards they appear on unless it's specific to business cards.

It normally takes awhile after getting the caed for offers to appear, at least a month but could be longer. If it's your only chase card you won't see them until they appear.

Just double checking - with both Sams or BJs - buying those cards online means a card gets mailed is that correct? I was looking to make a purchase at Disney tomorrow and was checking to see if any of the gift cards were emailed so that I could use them right away.

Fwiw, my Old Navy in CA does not sell 3rd party gift cards. For anyone wondering just call up your local store and I ask, I say "do you sell third party gift cards like Starbucks and Amazon?"
