Updated: 9/17: WDW, Halloween Party, Discovery Cove, Acquatica, Windsor Hills PICS

Yep, the joys of Central Florida!!! LOL We get this kind of weather all the time. Sorry to hear you're swollen, I did hear that the humidity was supposed to go down because of Igor passing us 1000 miles off the coast or something, they suck all the humidity out of the air, which is fine by me!! LOL I hope you guys have a good day tomorrow!!! I've been thinking about you while I've been at WORK!!! LOL

we leave late tomorrow evening. it is a short trip but has been worth it. when i get home and settled i will post more. there is a lot to tell about using a scooter!!

we didn't have any plans to go down where you work or otherwise it would have been a blast to meet you.

Nice report!! It looks like ya'll had fun!! BTW, the refillable mugs for sodas are at the Disney resorts, not at the parks. So that's probably why you read about them.

Now I understand about the mug. The woman did say she bought hers at her resort.

At Acquatica you can buy one of their big cups and pay .99 for a refill.

I never thought about the heat making them swell so badly. My knees are swollen too. Now that I am home I am propping them up and they are about 1/2 as swollen as they were.

I need knee replacements too, how long ago did you have it done?

Sounds like your girls had alot of fun. Glad you did good on the scooter. It's not that bad. I don't need one yet, but I always budget in enough for a wheelchair just in case I need it. The heat has died down here just a little bit, so maybe you took it home with you!! LOL I did enjoy the halloween party, and yes, if you can afford it, definidly stay at a 2 br on site. We're doing this in may. Do you know if you get the package thru disney, you can make payments? The total is due 45 days before the trip. I'm doing this for may, and it helps not having to drop $7000 at once!!!

The refillable mugs, just so you know are a resort thing. You get them sometimes with a package, we always do deluxe dining, so one comes with our package, and they're fillable at your resort thru your length of stay. They're not at the parks. I didn't know you were interested in them, otherwise I coulda helped you avoid that embarrassing part :)

Sorry you missed your Ohana breakfast, it's AWESOME!!! Crystal Palace is MUCH better for breakfast, I'll only do breakfast there. I'm not much of a buffet dinner person. Def. Start saving for next year....I should have my AP's back by then, so maybe I can pop over and meet up with ya'll!!! I've done that with others on here before, and I have made some awesome friendships that way.

Glad your trip was good....and it's all about the girls, but us adults love it too :)!!

I loved your trip report :). Good for you, getting out there on a scooter so your girls could enjoy their vacation with you. I'm sorry that you suffered such swelling. You have a great attitude, enjoying your shopping when you could no longer transfer to rides....way to enjoy the moment :thumbsup2

Thanks for your feedback on aquatica. I like to hear balanced reports. Take good care of you and I hope you feel more rested soon!

We all had a lot of fun. I wasn't going to let my swollen legs stop me although I really thought I needed to go to the ER as they were in horrific pain.

It was so weird to leave such heat/humidity and come back home to the weather being in the 60's. lol. I really wanted to be back in FL but our short trip proved to be too much for me. If we had been there longer with more to do I would have had to stay at the condo. as my legs were that bad.

I went thru some of the Disney places that have two bedroom's and OMG are they expensive. Due to me being on disability and my husband trying to make the bills without my second job that used to be six figures, I really don't think there is a way we can swing those prices.

We used to stay at the Dolphin, loved it but the rooms are small and in my condition when I need to rest I really need quiet time and it is not fair to a 6 and 7 year old to stay still and be quiet when I need to rest in one room for all of us. We stayed at the Gaylord Palms one year and I fell near the ice rink due to the floor being uneven and I had to stay in bed the entire trip. We didn't like the Gaylord Palms at all as it is too business oriented for a family vacation. Plus, the place is too darn large and it is as if you need a shuttle to go from one end of the complex to the other LOL. I rem. eating in their steakhouse (food was great) but all of the business people were being loud and drunk and cursing and we asked to be moved to another area as it was really ruining our dinner. When one of the tables saw that we moved they were smart enough to know that it was because of them and they came over and apologized for their foul mouths but by then our dinner was almost over as we had to wait to be moved due to all of the tables being taken.

Where are you staying that costs $7,000??? Since you live in FL that must be with a discount correct?

That is funny about the refillable mugs. I was surprised when my husband came back and said they don't do that here. I saw many people carrying those mugs and talked to the one lady and she said she thought they could be refilled there to and was stuck carrying it around all day.

I could not believe that my scooter broke down as soon as I went uphill to the monorail on it. The circuits on the batteries needed to be pushed back in. My husband had put them in the opposite way and that is why the circuit broke. We were excited about O'hana's but as I told the girls "Let's not let anything ruin our trip." It was so funny that we boarded the train to Epcost vs. Magic Kingdom and had to go back and get on the correct train. lol.

It would be a blast to meet you next year. Do you think the weather is hot enough in Oct. to still swim and do the water rides? We might push it to the first week in Oct.

We had so much fun. Thanks for reading my trip report. Glad my aquatica review was of interest to you. I'm glad it was part of the package as we did not have to put any extra cash out for it. It was so much smaller than we imagined. Swimming at Discovery Cove was so much fun so maybe that was why we were not impressed with Aquatica.
