Hi guys, I know alot of you asked me to let you know how things have been going at work since i last posted.

Im due back at work on monday.
2 weeks before Christmas my line manager decided to change my working hours(im employed on a 16 hour contract but always work 27), she's kindly dropped my hours to 18 !!!!.

As you can appreciate this put the icing on the cake so to speak(yes this is the one thats giving me all the trouble), everybody else has 32+ hours, and what really got me mad was the fact we have a new member of staff starting on 6th Jan wait for it(she applied for a job being advertised as 19 hours) and got 31!!!!!!!!, now im no mathmathician but to me that doesnt add up or ring fair.

Under Union discussion I've placed 2 official complaints which are due to be heard on the 16th January. To say I had lousy Christmas was an under statement this has been playing heavily on my mind, over the course of a month the hours I've lost really add up, I have a childminder on a contract who I have to give notice to so untill that runs out im paying out more than I have coming in, I've got to the point that I feel like taking this person aside whilst nobody is looking and giving her a right good hammering!!!!!!.

To top everything off, the college is still saying im am not entiltiled to parental leave for my disabled son, this is something that has been going back and forth over the last 3 months!!!, so if anybody has a solicitor in the family Help!!!!!!.

On a plus point there is a new member of staff who started 6 weeks ago, and has approached me on many occasions asking why im treated differant to others, and has also picked up on how others can do one thing and I cant!!, shes already pin pointed the trouble makers and the ones who always get their own way, so in some respect somebody else can see it isnt just me.

Anyway I'll keep you up todate with whats happening, Ive decided to fight this right to the top if thats whats needed, And im a great believer in whats goes around comes around!!.

Jules

Thanks for keeping us updated, Jules. Sorry you had such a rotten Christmas, I can quite understand all the worry, frustration, aggro etc. Good luck with the fight. I do hope that you have a truly great 2003 and everything falls into place.

What goes around comes around - yes, I'm with you on that one.

Sorry to hear you had a rotten Christmas over all this Jules - I echo Sue's Mum's sentiments in wishing you a much better 2003.

And lets all hope that what goes round, comes back at them double quick and a double whammy!!!!!!

Still keep us posted.

Hmmm, I hate the sound of all this and I wish you the very best of luck in getting things sorted out.

Will you be taking someone with you to the meeting for moral support ? From what little I know of these situations I think you should be able to take someone with you. Like a partner or friend or even a fellow colleague perhaps..

Good Luck from both of us.

Terry and Janet

Sorry to hear about this Jules. Keep up the fight though!!

So sorry that you are having to put up with such appalling treatment. It's hard to believe that this sort of thing goes on so openly in this day and age. I hope you have the strength to fight it till the end and hopefully save anyone from having to suffer in the same way.

I hope things get better soon.

Sorry to hear about this Jules:( I'll be thinking of you and hope things turn out weel for you. I agree that what goes around comes around......

Hope everything works out well for you Jules, you shouldn't have to put up with this sort of thing these days. Good Luck.

When you are treated so unjustly it hurts :( - I really hope that this works out for you in the end Jules. It's good to hear your resolve isn't weakening but it can't be easy to keep strong.

The only constructive advice I can give regards you them saying you aren't entitled to parental leave would be to check this out with a solicitor at your local Citizen's Advice Bureau?

Very best of luck getting this sorted out.
