We (DS, DW and I) returned to RI Sunday afternoon from our 4th trip “Home” to SSR. We would like to thank everyone who put all of their extra effort into making this our Christmas Vacation, even though it was in early November.

We find it remarkable how SSR has evolved over the past 4 trips, when we first started only 2 buildings were open (Congress Park) and now it truly turning into a complete vacation resort. This trip we stayed in a studio at the Paddocks, previously we have stayed on one and two bedroom accommodations. While a studio was a little cramped in comparison, it was quite adequate for our needs. The room was clean and neat (only has been open for 4 weeks). One light bulb missing in ceiling……..don’t know why, but that was all I could complain about, so that was not too bad!!

We arrived late Thursday night, upon check-in we asked for our box (Tree) at the Carriage House. They could not find it so they referred us to Bell Services, who also could not locate anything with our name. They promised to continue looking and to deliver it to the room when found. True to their word, we had a knock on the door within an hour and our tree was delivered. (Minor mix up with the name on the box, no big deal.)

We set up our tree and decorated it as a family, setting the scene for us to have an early Christmas at SSR. We were impressed with the nostalgia included in the box from previous families that had shared the tree in past years. We took pictures of the tree, which I had hoped to share here, but either I can out figure out how to post them or I do not have the access to do so.

Prior to our leaving we repackaged the tree and dropped it off at Bell Services with instructions for the Cast members regarding the next family expected to pick it up.

We are staying at SSR from 12/19 to 12/23 and then moving to OKW for 13 nights. I know bell services will move our luggage to OKW for us but what will they do with the food in our fridge and freezer? Will they keep it refrigerated/frozen? It could be with bell services for a few hours until our OKW room is ready.

disneykins you just tell bell service that this bag or box must go into a refrig and the bag or box in a freezer until your room is ready.

Hi everyone!
No, they didn't deliver it to my room. We left to meet my Dad & his companion between 1-1:30. I called to check if it was there yet on the 8th & again right before I left, but I must have just missed it. We didn't get back to the room until late that night (it was an EMH) so I didn't go down & pick it up until the next am. I opened it, slipped in a couple of $ and a NE Patriots ornament, which I know all families will enjoy (heheheh), crossed my name off & left at bell services. I was surprised to hear mrmom had a somewhat difficult time retrieving it, as when I left it at bell service I told them he would be picking it up that day. I mentioned that he would probably ask for a Christmas tree size box - because that is what it is. The woman even said how she remembered this from "last year".
I appreciate ceejay, the effort you put in , as well as you wdwstar. My "Christmas" with my Dad was magical just the same. Thank you all for your efforts just the same.

I think mrmom problem was his name was wrong on the tree box or something like that, he did get the tree within an hour I believe.

All right.... a bunch of trees were sent tonight!!! TWO Boxes.... sorry guys and gals... the Christmas trees were longer than any box they had, so I sent the tree and then another box with the decorations in it. SOooooo sorry. Good news it was under $15.00 to send both boxes!! And frankly one box for it all would have been one VERY LARGE box, and storing it would have been a pain for everyone... lol

So anyway... this is what your looking out for....

I beelive the FEDEX box was 18inches tall..

And to give you a prespective of the tree box......

It is a 4 foot tree, which sounds LARGE, but it isnt really all that large... but it has a bit of meat to it. Didnt want to skimp.... The decorations are plastic. LOL At least I hope they are... they seemed like they were.... you cant pack glass ones like that can you?? They are Target speical. lol
(I got a flat tire just as I was driving up a long bridge in our area yesterday, which is why I sent everything out today... lol Very scary being on top of a bridge, with a flat, esp after hearing about that guy around here who was struck and killed while changing a tire... It has been a while since I was scared... I was scared on top of that bridge and REALLY WANTED A SMOKE! (just stopped smoking 4 weeks ago maybe... maybe less... maybe more, time is melding I am so busy! LOL) I didnt cave btw... lol

No problem Erica!!! Now the Fed EX Dude said all of the trees will arrive Friday.... I belelive your also arriving Friday... I am not sure when the resorts get their Fed Ex deliveries but I would ask if they had when you check in.

I hope you like the trees!!

Oh and my peeps... (that is everyone getting one of my trees) See Ericas Name on the above box.... that is where you tape the new name.... LOL And then the last person tapes my mailing label over all of the names.... got it??? LOL
