Have any of you ever been more than 2 weeks late, known you weren't pregnant, and had really, really bad cramps (like the worst in your life) and chills? If so, what did it turn out to be?

I had a post partum infection, about a week after my son was born, bad cramps--I couldnt even straighten up, and fever and chills. The MD told me sometimes that happens when the placenta comes out too early ( I delivered 2 weeks early) I've never had what you've described but it sounds like an infection if you have chills, I'd call your doctor in the morning, maybe just describing your symptoms you could get a prescription over the phone. I would probably go in and have it checked out.

Have you recently (in the last year or so) been taking a form of birth control? I can not do the shot as I get bad reactions to it. I have been off of it for over a year and a half. When I first went off I didn't have a cycle for about 7 months, then had 3 in a months and a half. Since then I have had spells where I miss entire months. Sometimes I do get the cramps though. I am sorry that I do not have any better advice. Have you seen your doc about this yet?

Thom dropped me from his insurance so the only doctor I can go to is the student health center on campus...I'm a little leery of going to them, but I may go anyway between this and the heartburn that I've been having. Disney845 (I hope that's the right #....sorry if it's not :) ), I am on the pill.

My cramps lasted for a good 8 months. When I my period did come, I bleed for months non stop and believe me the cramps and chills beside being drugged up on vicodin everyday for the pain was horrible. I was diagnosed with Endometriosis. Had surgery to remove the scar tissue which came back with a vengance, That led to a Hysto which made me feel 100 percent better. Again I hope this is not something you have to go thru. Hope you feel better.

Akidatheart, there's a reason that I know I'm not pregnant ....think about it for a second. ;)

You never said you didn't have any of that. You also said you were on the pill. The STD could have been there for a while. Some of them Don't show anything for a while. Take Clamydia for example. You could have it and not have any symptoms for a long while.

Okay...Now you're scaring me, but luckily Thom wasn't with anyone else (physically) that I know of while we were married....I thought you were just playing around.

Luckily, I think I figured out while I was lying awake in bed for over two hours this morning in pain that it's a kidney infection or a kidney stone that was causing the cramps....I knew where the pain was but I didn't know where it was starting from, but I felt it at about 2 this morning.

If its a stone, I hope it passes quickly with not too much pain!!! Please take care of yourself.

I'm going to go to the doctor on Monday...That's most likely the soonest I can get a ride to the Student Health Center and I don't feel up to walking.

Is there any way you could get to the doctor today? If it's a kidney infection, you could end up in the hospital on IV antibiotics if you don't get treatment soon enough. {{{Hugs}}} I hope you're feeling better soon. You deserve for something in your life to go well right now.

You probably need to get in! I have had kidney problems for most of my life and have never had them feel like cramps.

Kelsie, I've had a kidney stone feel like that (I've had both stones and infections pretty frequently ever since Jessi was born.) I did end up trying to make an appointment for today (after Roger and my mom both insisted...Roger was even willing to leave his shop on his second busiest day and take me) but couldn't get one....so I'm going on Monday.

Oh, I'm sorry. I must have misunderstood. I thought you didn't recognize the pain and that was why you were asking.

Hope you feel better soon.

It's okay...I figured it out...I didn't recognize the pain at first...It's been almost 6 months since my kidneys bothered me the last time. Thanks for the advice :)

It is a pain I can/will never forget. I have them about every 2 months so I'm reminded quite frequently. My pain is always on my side and lower back. Hopefully if it is a stone, you can pass it soon. :)
