Well we must at least be a little interesting if you are still reading so I'll continue with what our general plans are so far. Complaints, critisisms and snide remarks are welcome afterward.
We live outside Cincinnati but our air here must be very valuable because it costs a bundle to fly out of our airport .
After some pricing we decided to take a two hour drive to Dayton.
Their air must be of lower quality because it was a bit more affordable. We have a nonstop flight on Freedom Airlines leaving Dayton at 7:45 am and arriving in Orlando at 10:05 am. Total cost of airline tickets ( nonrefundable but including insurance) $929.
We are total snobs
so we chose to rent a towncar instead of Magical Express. Okay that's not true....the real reason is we want to stop for booze
( oh yeah and breakfast foods) . We chose Sunray for a total price of $82 ( plus tip) and they include with that price one grocery stop . I'm certain that the money we save from purchasing our adult beverages and breakfast foods outside the parks will more than make up for the added cost.
We are staying at POFQ. Several months ago we booked with a 40% discount on the room rate .This package also included a mini golf voucher ( no time for this ...we only have five nights, six days and we have done this on a previous trip), a Planet Hollywood voucher for $15 ( probably won't use this either), a Sea Raycer voucher ( no time again... however we have never done this) and for the grand finale....a Photo Movie DVD
. This we will definatly use and we are really looking forward to this! With all the money we saved on the room rate we decided we could afford the Dining plan. We had the free dining in 2005 and loved it .Our total package price was $2496. Quite a deal I thought!
Well you can't justify ditching the inlaws ( outlaws) at Christmas without doing everything possible so we are going to MVMCP on December 13th.That was another $207. A little steep in my opinion
but the whole reason we were going was to be there at Christmas time
so it just made sense.
If you are keeping a running total like I am so far our vacation cost is at $3714. You may say that's alot to spend just to avoid sharing the holiday with a bunch of Neandertals ( not to insult the Neandertals) . I say I would spend twice that amount!
Up next I'll give a breakdown of our day-to-day.
