The orioles I wrote about have stayed! :Pinkbounc We are having a small war here between them and the blue jays and the other day I saw 4 orioles driving off one blue jay. What an amazing explosion of color.

Between the orioles, blue jays and cardinals, it's not only colorful but it's starting to sound like a baseball report! :p The orioles are ahead 4 to 1. LOL!

Not a great picture but the only one I've been able to get of these elusive birds.

Very cool, Virgo10!! :) It does indeed sound like a baseball game....lol..

What kind of bird is that in your siggy? It looks like some sort of albino peacock? Stunning!! :)

I think that's what it is. This bird was at the Fort Wilderness area (not the Wilderness Lodge) of Walt Disney World. They have a mini town area with places to eat, the Hoop-dee-do review and a petting zoo. The peacocks (there was a male colorful one too) walk around freely. Beautiful birds but best observed from a distance. They really have an attitude! :p

Awesome! I love attracting birds but haven't been very successful yet.

You're right Roberta, I think peacocks are best observed at a distance too. :)

We stayed in a treehouse on one of our trips to WDW, and although we had been warned about them (the peacocks), they kept us awake the first night with their calling/talking whatever, to each other. It really sounded to us like they were saying....HELP ME....HELP ME....lol....honest! :)

One morning we went to leave for the parks, and there were 5 of them right outside the door (one on the roof over the door), we were trapped!! :p It took a lot of banging the door open and shut..shushing noises, to get them to leave. Held hostage by a band of roaming peacocks..... :p :)

That's a great pic, Roberta! I'd love to see more, if possible. I never get to 'see' birds.

I have a few bird pictures and various other weather, garden and bug photos too. I'll try and post them on Picturetrail tomorrow and then I'll put the link here.

Too pooped to do it now. I just edged one of my gardens and mowed the back lawn. The sun actually came out for a few minutes around 7 p.m.!! Couldn't believe it. I wasn't the only one mowing away. I could hear lawn mowers going all over the neighborhood. We have had rain, rain and then more rain. Guess what the forecast is for the next 3 days? If you said rain you win an umbrella. :p

The oriole is beautiful, wish they would hang around more.

I have had to stop feeding the birds, I now have a falcon living in the area. He preys on the small birds. Not a pretty sight. One of my beloved hobbies "bird watching" can no longer be, at least not in my yard.

The oriole is beautiful. Sounds like the Blue Jays might win. I'm for the Orioles.
We haven't had many this year due to the rain:( I miss my boids
