Update on the Magic

Ok, responses on this board is getting way to personal when you start telling me to butt out. I do not have a negative attitude toward you. I think I am entitled to my remarks. Also, how do you know for sure that I wasn't booked for this cruise and chose to get out when the hurricane was predicted? We don't always tell when we are going to cruise. You are assumming that I "wasn't part of it". Very dangerous to do that when you don't know for sure.

If you read most of the posts, many people said" I want to see what DCL is offering".

I'm sure DCL would have been able to call everyone if they weren't inudated by calls from people who wanted to know what was going on and that is provided the phone lines were even working. I'm sure the passengers are disappointed however, I think I would not want to be on the receiving line of DCL.
 
I have to agree, telling someone to "butt out" is rude. When you post on a message board you open yourself up to criticism so "butting out" is not an option. If you don't like it then don't post. She wasn't the only one that stated her feelings that way so you don't need to single her out. DCL went way beyond what they had to do because as another poster stated they were not obligated to do ANYTHING. And yes people do take advantage and see "what the best compensation" will be to try and milk the situation. I am sorry that your vacation was interrupted but you did book a cruise during hurricane season, just remember that.

It sure would suck if your trip plans got of jumbled around and cruise changing last minute but as everyone said, DCL has no control over the weather and has the right to do whatever they want. DCL let people cancel or do short cruise with genreous offerings. Personally I would have cancelled and rebooked but thats my opinion. But either if disney canceled all together or kept it shortend like they did people always have to complain about somthing. Remember disney isnt really magic! People run it and mistakes and problems arise, it was stressful for everyone, passengers and employees included .There are bound to be issues but luckily everyone is safe.

Can we just drop this already? Are we not adults? Can't we have a discussion without turning into a 4th grade nit picking session?
Do people have the right to complain? Yeah, Should they complain, that's a matter of opinion. Until you walk in somebody else's shoes, don't tell them what size to wear

I dont know if that was directed at me or not.

Just so everyone knows. I think people have the right to complain, but the truth is we just really shouldnt blame it all on Disney. If I was in your shoes, my family would be complainging to but in the long run nothing DCL could really do.

It wasn't directed at anybody, just in general. I'm not on a cruise this week, won't be cruising until October.
Would I be complaining? No, I live in Florida, I had other things to worry about than where the boat would be taking me and Disney being unstaffed. I understand the frustration on both sides... But there is no reason to take it out on each other... Wehre's the pixie dust?
 
hello there thanks for the update been a bit worried here back in South Africa hearing about the Hurricanes on the news and radio broadcast's and not hearing from my sister who is aboard the magic as a staff member. I am not sure if you know her, her name is Moreshnie (she-she) as she is known on the ship. She is a character, i think :-) If you do know her could you please pass a message along to her, that i love her lots and miss her tons and so glad to hear that all is well aboard the magic.
