update on sil and babies update post # 11

the docs have kepted her on meds since sat and her contractions had stopped but the stopped the meds today and she has gone back into labour so its possible she will have the twins tonight as she is about 7cm dilated
so please can you keep sil and babies in your thoughts to keep them safe ..

Ive only just foound this thread, i havent been on the dis in a while only quickly, builders kids mess, Izzys been poorly and my cousin died, so a nightmare.

Just wanted to say hope everything goes ok for them, i know how hard it is ive been there, as most of you know dd Izzy was nearly 3 months early, just this time last year.fingers crossed for you and if you need to chat im gonna try to get on here more.

she has had the twins last night we have just been told, they are breathing ok by themselves but if any they need any help they will have to be transfered to bristol from southampton..

ive seen lots of babies on the unit and normally once they are breathing by themselves once born and not on a vent after the first 24 hrs , if they was going to have troulble it would be then you would see it as they somtimes find it hard work after a few hours breathing by themselves and need a little help but its quite unusal to go back on it after that point , unless theres another reason ie infection etc, so theyve already been over a big hurdle, that great, Izzy was only vented to get the medicine in her lungs and was breathing by herslf ever since.

how big were they ?

i think they were about 2lb each . dont know much detail as when i spoke to mum this morning she was still quite tired and not quite with us ..bless her
she has named them Eleanor and Sophie ....and i think Sophie was born breech !

2lbs not a bad weight for that early, i think that as she was so little hopefully it wasnt too bad for her the breach birth.
