Well, I am due around 7/23/04 but will not go that far. I will be induced week 38 if I don't go on my own because of my history with pre-term labor and gestational diabetes. That's what brings me back to WISH. I will going back on my gestational diabetes diet, which is a low carb, no sugar diet plus I am going to be exercising to keep my sugars down. I hope to only gain 15 pounds with this pregnancy. I gained about 25 with my first, but when I went on the diet for the diabetes, I didn't gain an ounce. So since I am starting this all early, I am hoping to keep everything in check and have a healthier pregnancy. I have an appointment with the specialist on the 29th, so I will have all of my particulars then. So if no one minds, I will probably visit here often for moral support. Thanks for letting me stick around WISH!!!

Talk to everyone soon!!!

You're gonna have a WISH baby!!! :D

You're always welcome to hang out here. I think your way of eating during your pregnancy is a great thing!! We really don't NEED sugar and refined carbs, do we??

Best of luck and glad you're here!

scanne - Congratulations on your impending arrival!::MinnieMo

I think its a great idea to try to control your sugar levels. My first born (DD) was born with low blood sugar (they think I may have had an undiagnosed case of gestational diabetes). Because of her low blood sugar, she spent 4 days in NICU. So its not only important for your health, but the baby's too. With my DS, I said I'd eat whatever they told me if it could prevent the time in NICU. Fortunately, I didn't develope it with him. I think watching really helped.

BTW, I recognized you from the DIS Resorts board (where I usually hang out). I was very excited to see that you are expecting again!:sunny: Best of luck with everything!

Congratulations on your pregnancy. I also had gestational diabetes during my pregnancy. I hope this is a very uncomplicated pregnancy for you. Please keep us updated on your progress. You both will be in my thoughts.

Keep posting here, and keep us updated. How exciting to be carrying that little someone special!
Good for you for watching your health!

It's great to see you here, sweetie. I'm glad you are going to be visiting us more often.

Sounds like you are prepared for that gestational diabetes, I sure hope you can avoid it this time. Exercising will help a lot as well as that special diet.

We're here if you need us and you know that we are always ready to cheer a fellow WISHer on in their quest for better health.

Glad to see you posting here again, Scanne!! Please keep us updated on your progress! :)

Congrats on the little bun! :) I know you'll do great! You've got a smart start with how to eat (since you've done it before) and you're motivated to exercise. Walking was the easiest thing for me to do- as long as I stayed out 45 minutes I didn't care how slow or fast I walked- and I was doing that up to the day of delivery! It really will help control your sugars. Keep us posted and remember to drink plenty of water! :)

I had great success with both pregnancies by sticking to the "protein, fruits and vegetables" diet. Avoided gestational diabetes and high blood pressure complications and was able to make it a couple days into week 38 before I went into labor with DD1. Because I have a history of "going really fast" I was induced with DD2, but both girls were very healthy and happy. BTW - funny story about that was good thing I was in the hospital - I went from 2-5 in less than an hour, and then 5-10 in less than 15 minutes! We are AT LEAST 40 minutes from a hospital - it would have been really close!
