I posted a while back that my 1-year-old Lab Nala had been limping. The limping stopped and started again so I took her to the vet. After spending a small fortune for x-rays and having the x-rays reviewed by an orthopedic specialist, my poor fur baby has hip dysplasia and will need surgery!
I IMMEDIATELY panicked because I knew I was never going to be able to afford the surgery. I bought Nala from a pet store chain and knew that she was covered under a warranty up to one year. I knew that the warranty had expired, but decided to call the pet store to let them know what was going on. Well, to make a long story short, the store owner decided to honor the warranty and pay for Nala's surgery! I am so happy!
I had no idea what I was going to do with my poor baby suffering so much. She looks so sad and know it's because she can't go out and play like she used to.
Also, she just started licking her paw so much that she's licked a little raw patch on it! Anyone have any ideas as to why she may be doing that?
Has anyone had a dog that's needed hip dysplasia surgery? How long will she be off her feet? Will she be good as new afterwards?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
