He has still not been able to have the gamma knife treatment for his avm because of continued nausea. Yesterday we had a visit with the gastrointerologist to get the results of the tests he had the past couple of weeks (ultrasounds, camera down the throat, blood tests, etc).

The doc concluded that there isn't anything wrong with his gastrointestinal tract. Yes, he does have some stones and pollips in his gallbladder but they don't seem to be giving him any problems (he has no pain from them and his nausea and vomiting don't seem to be related to the amount of fat in his diet) so he doesn't see any reason to take out his gallbladder - and we agree with him.

He suggested taking my dad to an ENT to see if the problems could possibly be related to inner ear. We saw the ENT this morning (the same one who did sinus surgery on me about 12 years ago so I am familiar with him and trust his work).

They did some hearing tests and a test where they made him lean backwards very quickly and turn his head to one side - and yes, it made him sick. They think it is positional vertigo.

He will have more tests in a couple of weeks to firm up that diagnosis - and I really hope they can do something about it once they confirm it, poor guy has been throwing up since last October.

Thanks to all who have been keeping him in your thoughts and on you prayer lists. Please keep it up - and anyone who wants to add him to your prayer lists or lists at your church, his name is Roy Loveday.

Thanks so much!!
Sandy

I'm partial to Roys, that's my husband's name. I hope your Dad gets better soon now that they have an idea what is causing the problem.

Since October? Wow! And I thought a month was bad (they thought it was galbladder- turned out to be an ulcer). Hopefully they have pinpointed the problem and your dad starts to feel better soon!:)

Vertigo is treatable right?? That would be good, I guess. I hope he gets better soon.

Sometimes. I have BPPV (vertigo) and while it is not cureable, I do exercises that work great to help prevent attacks. With all the things it could have been, this is great news!:) I will keep good thoughts coming your way.:wizard:
