Update on LTT & GG

I am the OP who started the Bad News About LTT yesterday. I understand the moderators reasons for closing the thread, I also understand those who are doubtful of my status as a CM. Just to clarify, I wasn't trying to start a rumor just trying to give fellow planners like myself a heads up. (Yes, I take dine reservations but am an avid planner of my own Disney vacations! )

Anyway, while I realize this is technically not "official word" from Disney, it is my official word from them. When we log into our system every day we have someting called message of the day which updates us on any last minute news we need to be aware of. What you see below was there when I logged in yesterday. Again, not trying to start a rumor and moderators feel free to close this post too. The officail word will be out soon enough I am sure. Just trying to help my fellow Disers.

When I call to make a lunch reservation at Garden Grill and am told I cannot do so because it will no longer be serving lunch as of Oct 6, that is not a rumor, that is operating policy. That is exactly what happened this morning.

Why is the OP not allowed to post this info? How is this any differant from someone posting PI is closing down?

Internet boards are not nearly as anonymous as many would like to think they are. Although I'm glad to have the information, I worry that the OP is inviting disaster.

CMs are expected to uphold the highest degree of confidentiality. When they don't do this, they are going against Disney's wishes and standards. I personlly hate when posts like these are put onto the boards.

The OP is free to post rumors. The OP is likely not free to cut and paste from the WDW dining system.

An individual who calls and is told the information has been given information intended to be made public. It is not entirely clear here that Disney intends for this information to be made public at this time. The difference is that the CM has an employment relationship with Disney under which he/she is likely not permitted to divulge confidential information without Disney approval. A Disney customer who is given the information on the telephone is under no such obligation.

I dont work for Disney so i cant quote you their policies.

However, if i were to cut and paste internal company messages on the internet i would be FIRED. No questions asked! I am not the media relations nor the spokesman for my company. When my company wants to release information to the public they do it thru certain channels and do it how they see fit.

I suspect Disney operates in a similar fashion. While the OP means no harm and is just trying to "help" i dont think Disney would like the fact this well meaning employee has decided that he/she is going to announce the information how he/she sees fit.

Again, until this is announced by Disney (officially) it is rumor. Please feel free to discuss it on the Rumors board.

Once it is officially announced, discussion will be welcome on the dining boards
