I posted this on the Community board and now also here on this board, (hoping this is the correct board)...
Please do keep Lisa, along with her daughter, Emily, and partner Lynn, in your good wishes, prayers. I talked to Lisa yesterday. She is back in the hospital, really unable to any longer remain at home. Lisa said she is now off any chemo, her body so wracked with the evil cancer and copious amounts of previous chemos and the cumulative damage they have done to her system. The doctors, she said, have indicated they have exhausted all available further treatments for her, she has tried them all, and saying they will continue to make her comfortable and such.
Lisa said she has also been enduring a very painful session of lymphedema, not only in the more common arm areas, but also in her chest, neck and even head. She said she feels like she is going to explode.
Lisa also said the toll of such a long and serious illness is affecting both Lynn and Emily too. She said if Lynn is in the room with her and any talk of the situation occurs, Lynn leaves the room. And Emily has been unusually quiet of recent. So, so sad.
Lisa said she can only place her faith in God, which all along she has done. She is a woman of strong faith and conviction and knows well the power of prayer.
I told her I would update her friends here on the DIS boards which she was pleased with. She said she has so many good memories of the folks here and the Scrap board. She talked of how she planned so many fun trips with her family to Disney World over the years, she misses it so.
So again, please continue to keep Lisa and her family in your good thoughts, prayers if you do. It really was a very sad phone call, but in the same breath, an inspiring one, hearing and knowing Lisa's will and fight to live. I recall a similar call, to Sylvia, fighting this same IBC disease, a little over 5 years ago. I so hope and pray Lisa is able to some day beat this beast.
