We haven't talked with the doctor yet, but DH talked to the nurse today; the dr was out today. She said the report showed that one of his sutures (bones in the top of his head) did close too early, and that she couldn't speak for the dr, but from experience she thought the dr would send us to a pediatric neurosurgeon. We should hear from the ped tomorrow. I have a horrible feeling about all this. I was so expecting to hear "No, he's fine, it was nothing", but part of me, deep down, knows that's not what I'm going to hear tomorrow.

I'm so scared for Isaac, I dont' know what to do or think. Please keep us in your prayers, we're going to need them.

Steph

Good luck to you guys! It's so scary when our kids/babies go through this sort of thing!!

Prayers to you and your family. Keep us updated and try not to worry about things you can't control. Hugs!

Sending more prayers your way and hoping everything turns out well for little Isaac. :grouphug:

So sorry to hear the news isn't what you hoped. Praying for all of you.

{{{{HUGS}}}}} I know how you are feeling, when my DS was 2 they told us that DS's sutures closed too soon (craniosynistosis) and that we needed to see a neurosurgeon. All I have to say is don't believe anything anyone tells you until you have a neurosurgeon read the scan. We had more than one doctor tell us that DS's sutures had closed, we lived in Italy at the time and they made arrangements for us to come to Walter Reed Medical Center (where the President goes) to see a neurosurgeon. We worried, stressed, cried, everything for three weeks. We made the long journey to the US and when we saw the neurosugeon, he read the same CT scans the other doctors did and he said they were wrong, that DS was fine. DH and I were stunned that after all that we went through, this doctor would take a minute and say all was well. We were very grateful to hear that DS was fine, but we were so upset with all of the other doctors who misdiagnosed him. Prayers for you and your little one, I hope you find that your child is just fine as well.

Keeping your family in my prayers.

I'm sorry you didn't hear better news from the nurse :( Sending lots of Pixie Dust your way for good luck & great medical care....

We have a little bit more at least. Talked to the ped this morning, she said as far as surgery it could go either way with his case, he might or might not need it. She's setting up an appt with a pediatric neurosurgeon in Columbus and will call us back later with a time.

Tiggerlover---it sounds like the exact same thing you went through with your DS. I'm hoping ours turns out not to need surgery as well, sorry you had to go through all that. It's so hard, the waiting part.

Thanks again for the thoughts and prayers, I'll update more when I know.

Steph

Thanks for the updates on Isaac, Steph. Sure can understand your concern, worry. Continued good wishes and prayers for all of you. Hope little Isaac does well.

My dd has seen a neurosurgeon since she was born. Her first surgery was at 2 days old the second surgery she was almost 5 y/o. The anticipation is the hardest part. Pediatric neurosurgeons are wonderful, gifted doctors. The whole process, whether it be just one trip to the neuro or surgery, will be hardest on you. My dd bounced back quickly after both surgies. The second surgery was done on a Thursday and she was home on Sunday. I will say a prayer for Isaac. If you have any questions about what we went through please ask. Keep us posted.
