A few weeks ago I posted a thread asking for advice on how to handle a situation with my DN14 who had broken her ankle. First let me say, thanks to all of you who posted advice! Guess what? Seems she has the spirit of Disney in her just like her auntie - She has taken great caution & care, even skipping her class field trip, and when she went for her 3 week check up, the Doctor released her from crutches and her boot! He said she has made a remarkable recovery and will make it just fine through the parks with no aid, not even a lace up or ankle sleeve! A whole lot of answered prayer!
I am so excited to see her face when she sees all of WDW for the first time - she has been dreaming of going since she was 5 y/o and now she will get to have her greatest wish granted.
Of course having her along for our WDW vacation makes it all the more exciting for me! 6 days till we are there (ticker is off by two)!

Great news, hope you guys have a wonderful time. We were discussing our vacation last night, with the new system, lots of changes and we will not be as efficient as in the past, my daughters said, "mom, we don't have to do everything, lets just have fun, enjoy the sites, stores, our meals," it seems my now 15 and 20 year olds have figured out how to enjoy the magic that Walt envisioned.

What great news for her!

One suggestion....there is a LOT of walking in WDW, so it may be best to bring along the ankle brace or something in case it turns out to be a bit more than she is ready for.....if it sits in the hotel room the whole time that would be great, but if she needs it, you'll be glad you packed it. Would hate to see all her hard work go sour and she be uncomfortable or in pain!

I hope that you have an absolutely wonder time. We're here now and the weather is wonderful...high 70's and low 80's all week. The parks are a bit crowded but honestly the waits aren't that bad, just plan wisely and hit the good stuff at rope drop.

I LOVE to hear people say positive things like this! Seems these days people are missing out on some of that magic by sweating the small stuff. I hope you and your family have a GREAT time. Btw, Walt would be proud of your DD's wisdom! ;)

Thanks for the tip on bringing the extra ankle support. I have a knee injury and always do just fine in the parks, however I do bring in Ziploc bags for ice just in case I need a quick "iced knee" therapy.

Glad you are having fun! would love to read a post on your trip when you get back. Hope the rest of your trip is amazing.

That is nice but if i may make a suggesting... I would still rent a wheel chair. If she is not 100% it will start bothering her and if she doesn't want to ride in the wheel chair it will give her someplace to sit down. Something to consider, remember the average park go'er walks 13 miles...

Good luck.
