Well we finally have got our appointment through for Booth Hall Childrens Hospital. 22nd March.
We have been back and forwards to the dr's as this week since sunday evening she has been very bad with her hip, she's limping more and more each day even more so she doesnt walk anymore she hops.
He's put her on stronger painkillers, she was on Ibuofen.
I've noticed when she is asleep, she squints with pain when she turns over and her leg seems to have some kind of trapped nerve as it twitches away.
She's missed a week off school, as the dr has said no walking far/running/jumping etc.
She seems to be coping fine, kids usually do, but its not nice when i hear people saying to others "look at the little girl walking" etc, it annoys me, what worries me is if she hears them she cant help it, but I dont want her to feel its her fault etc.

Perthes disease seems to be rare, as this week my partner had to call a ambulance out for me, I couldnt breathe (or so I thought when they hooked me up my lungs was filling nicely, I was more panicking than anything),I'm on antibiotics as I have a severe throat infection, I told the paramedic about it and he was like "Perthes what? whats that?"

It's been a hectic week, I just want her to be fine now, so I'm glad the appointment as come through. We will know soon what will happen etc.

Anyway thanx for all you kind messages, and will tell you all what happens when we go.

{{{{HUGS}}}} Beth, bless her - Chelsea sounds like she is being SO brave.

I know you just want her to be like the others running into school and I'm sure the adults feel concerned for her when they notice her gait.

Hang on in there too - you are doing a great job :)

(if you have the name of the consultant please send it to me by PM).

Have sent you a PM :)

She is being very brave, On sunday night it was her great grandma's birthday (it was a leap year, so she was 21 if you know what I mean?), and all night she looked in pain but still managed to walk around slowly, and have fun, But everyone could tell she was in pain, but trying to battle on with a brave face, she's a good little girl, at 4 she amazes me with how well she is coping with this...it just breaks me heart she is like this.

The only thing what worries me is we go on holiday in June, and I dont know what will happen, she will be devastated if she cant go, I havent said anything as of yet, I just want her to be OK,Should I mention this to the consultant?

Thanks so much for the update.

I really hope there are more answers for you when you go to the appointment.

Bless her, she seems to be one brave little girl.

{{{HUGS}}} for you and Chelsea

I'm sure it won't hurt to mention it to the consultant when you see them.

Yes you should tell the consultant, but I have a feeling that unless there is urgent treatment to be given in June, she will encourage you to go :) ! It is possible that she may give you some advice on what Chelsea should and shouldn't do but don't forget, you can always use strollers which are available for hire :)

I think it will do good Chelsea getting away, she has had it hard this past few months.
The buggies there (disney) ones are much better as they are more sturdier than a average pram, my chicco holds her weight but a 4year old in a pram is hard to lift onto kerbs etc.
So far the Dr has said no walking far, running etc.
So I think this will be the same for when we go to disney!

Fingers crossed she can go, and we have the time of our lives. :)
I cant wait until she see's the movies resort she doesnt know we are staying here this will make her day!!! :)

Thanx everyone.
Will keep you all updated.

Glad you don't have too long to wait now for your appointment and hope you get some answers and some constructive help from it. Keeping my fingers crossed for you both.

{{{HUGS}}} for you and Chelsea
