UPDATE: New "Toy Story 3" Character in Pixar's "Up" Confirmed

Pixar loves to hide little Easter eggs inside their movies, usually with characters that will appear in future projects and are not yet known to the audience. An example of this is in "Monsters, Inc," where the little girl (Boo) hands Sulley a bunch of toys, one of them being a fish that will eventually become Nemo from "Finding Nemo."

It seems that Pixar's next feature film "Up" is no different. According to director Pete Docter, a new "Toy Story 3" character is hidden in one of the scenes.

"We're showing a character from 'Toy Story 3' that nobody knows about," Docter told MTV News. "That's somewhere in there. If you look very closely [you'll see it]. I won't tell you who it is, but I'll tell you where it is."

He continued: "There's a shot where a little girl is in her room and the house goes by. She's playing with her toys. She's playing with her little plane. She gets up, and she looks [out the window] – under her bed is one of the new stars of 'Toy Story 3'. You have to look close."

The scene happens to appear in the first teaser trailer for "Up," so we took a few screenshots and found that the only things under the bed are a teddy bear and a pair of slippers. We're betting it's the teddy bear, but it's not quite under the bed. Click on the image below to take a look for yourself.

Wow, that's very troubling to hear that all of those voice actors are gone. Slink and Wheezy were key characters in the first two movies and it's hard to imagine a Toy Story movie without them. As for Lenny, I recall he made a comment about Woody and Buzz on a rocket while the rest of the toys were on the moving truck in Toy Story 1.

I love the bear -- what a pretty color, too -- and I'm not really questioning those of you who most likely know more than I do, but the quote says "under her bed", not beside it.

Is it my imagination, or is there a small yellow something under the bed near the leg that is the foot of the bed?
Does anyone else see what I see?

Or should I get my eyes checked?

I tried to zoom in, but that didn't help, so I'm not sure if I'm really seeing another possibility there.

I had heard a rumor soon after TS3 was announced that it was going to focus on Andy's little sister. Perhaps this will be her bear.

im sorry to bother you guys but i was wondering if any one knows where i could find a few buzz toys, stuffed animasl, etc. and maybe a twin sheet set for my grandson. i have checked toys r us in our city, but no luck. not sure if they would still sell the sheets. thank you for any suggestions, sorry if this is the wrong place to ask. i appreciate any help. they live in new york right now. thanks.

I don't see any sheets, but the Disney Store seems to have a pretty good selection of Buzz stuff listed online.

According to Wikipeda, slinky will be back for toy Story 3. They found another guy to play him.

I see that, too. plus they say you "have to look really hard". The bear (although adorable) is in plain sight. I wonder.

when does the new Toy Story 3 movie come out? I just found out yesterday at the Disney Store, when looking to replace Toy Story 1 on DVD. She told me they will be releasing 1 and 2 on DVD again to promote new movie.

I also heard that TS3 will be about Andy going to college and the toys ending up in a daycare center. This was in the Wall Street Journal a while back. A few bloggers and movie sites were annoyed because they gave the plot away (I think I originally saw the WSJ link on Rotten Tomatoes).

I also saw the little thing near the front of the bed. I wonder if that's it?

About a week ago, director Pete Docter revealed that a new "Toy Story 3" character is hidden in one of the scenes of the new Pixar "Up" movie.

He said: "There's a shot where a little girl is in her room and the house goes by. She's playing with her toys. She's playing with her little plane. She gets up, and she looks [out the window] – under her bed is one of the new stars of 'Toy Story 3'. You have to look close."

Many took a closer look at the scene that appears in the "Up" trailer and found several items under the bed, including a teddy bear, slippers, a potato chip and a carpet.

Now, PixarCollector has confirmed with their sources close to Pixar that the Teddy Bear is the new character. And he has a name. It's LOTSO.




So, it not only confirms the bear as the character, it shows that the yellow thing next to the post was a potato chip.
