UPDATE Member Service - 2003 Reservations Are Back

Called in this morning and actually got a rep first thing and guess what - their system can't take 2003 reservations!!! MS said it would be up sometime today so I should keep trying. Now, depending on timing, I may not get to add on to my reservations with the same room I have been booking over the past four days. They got through Y2K but couldn't get through Y2K+3.


All is well as of 9 am EST.

I had the same problem. Friday I lost the standard view Boardwalk studios that I had confirmed for New Years Eve and today I will lose the preferred view I had to changeover too. Oh well, maybe no Disney for me.......

I'm in the same boat. Called first thing, got through. Now I don't know when to call. Isn't this GREAT!!! If anyone gets any reservation for 2003, please post.

I had hoped they would at least have taken names of the first folks to get through but they said no. They also said no to calling back once the system was up. I guess that's understandable but the list thing could work. There should be some type of back-up system.

Boy this is really going to mess up a lot of reservations. I was able to book a 2 bdrm standard at the Bwv for the 29th and 30th and although I was a first caller for the 31st was only able to get a 1 bdrm and am waitlisted for a studio. Now it is anyones guess who will get what. -- I think I need some aspirin.

Boy, I am so angry I could spit nails!! I, too, got through first thing this AM only to be told the computers couldn't accept reservations for 2003. What kind of nonsense is this??!! Shouldn't someone have made sure the computers were functioning properly before this morning?? I was told to call back in 1/2 hour--which I did. After 10 minutes of redials and 5 minutes of hold--still told the computers aren't working. They could be running in five minutes--or it might be hours, they said. This is absolutely unacceptable. I agree, the common sense thing would have been to take a list of those people who had gotten through at 9am so they would not lose an opportunity for getting their reservation!! As it is now, who knows when the computers will be operating and who will actually get their ressies.

Justed called Member services and was told there will be no reservations made for 2003 until tommorrow!!!! Boy, will we be jamming up the phone line then.....

Just got off the phone with MS. They said they will have it up and running today, but to be fair to everyone, won't take any 2003 reservations until tomorrow 9am. And the saga continues...

I just spoke with them also and was told to try back in an hour. Are they trying to put us off from calling back today? If they are "working on the problem", it would mean it could be fixed at any time. If they are not planning on fixing it until tonight, then calling back tomorrow would be the right answer. All they need to do is be straigtforward with us - either no one can make 2003 reservations until tomorrow OR we should keep calling back today. Come on MS, which is it?

I also just got off the phone with MS and was told that NO ONE can make reservations until tomorrow! The good thing about that is that it will remove the stress of calling throughout the day today. However, I do find it somewhat amazing that this problem would pop up post 2YK!!!

My latest call confirmed that no 2003 reservations will be taken until tomorrow. I hope they are correct. Best of luck to all of us who have to try and get through tomorrow!

with Member Services about something else (10:42am Eastern) and the person who helped me was CERTAIN that they were not taking any ressies for 2003 until first thing tomorrow, in the interest of fairness. It sounded like a lot of debate and thought went into this decision. She was so certain of it, though, that she asked me to post it here. I told her that others already had, but that I would post it as well.

I just called myself (a little behind the times, I guess ) and MS has a message that says no reservations until tomorrow. I'm not too worried because I can only book at OKW . I stayed at BWV last NYE (01/02) and it was great. Boy, do I miss the Special Preferences list!

Now that I'm home, I want to thank all of you who posted about this.

I had called MS from work, ran into the problem, BUT, at that point, they hadn't made the decision to not take reservations until tomorrow.

I snuck a peek at the boards, saw this thread, and I knew not to bother calling again.

I want to thank everyone, too, but for a different reason. I needed to make a reservation for August but was planning to wait a day or two to avoid the busy signals and long hold time caused by those of you completing your Holiday plans. Thanks to this thread, I gave MS a call and got right through. Did get the reservation, but had to shift the dates a few days from the original plan.

SO, THANKS FOR POSTING! Hope everyone got what they wanted.
