Ppls inability to be responsible isn't Disney's fault.
I guess I don't follow how you think it is irresponsible for people to pay $10 a day to get into Disneyland. Sounds like a wise investment to me.

They sold passes during the ongoing suit, why would they stop to pay a settlement? Seems silly to me.Hi. Anything is possible. I do not think new key sales will happen until the Dream Keys settlement is executed and certified by the federal court. Save your money for the key. Sales will happen in 2024. When and how long are to be determined.
It is NOT silly. The lawsuit was still pending. Most of the sales were renewals anyhow. And new sales were restricted for a very limited time. Renewal times were restricted. I am an attorney. They are not going to sell passes again until the settlement is certified. They will insert new terms and conditions on the passes. Legal put a hold on the sale of new keys. It is fairly obvious. The day the settlement was dropped... sales of the Inspire Key stopped. Coincidence? NO.They sold passes during the ongoing suit, why would they stop to pay a settlement? Seems silly to me.
Could you explain to someone with no legal knowledge why many products can be on sale during ongoing and settled lawsuits? I just don't understand it from my perspective. It is NOT silly. Do you honestly think Disney is going to sell passes and take on more Key members without revamping all the terms and conditions to allign with the settlement terms and conditions? And possibly expose themselves to a former Dream Key member who does not have a pass and suddenly wants to buy one? IT is corporate governance and the way corporations operate. Not silly just how corporations and the law work. May seem silly to you but it is routine business.

Not trying to doubt this person but so many companies continue to sell products despite lawsuits and litigation. I'm sure Disney has thousands of lawsuits every year but can still operate.Source??
False. They simply sold out.
Renewal times were during each person's renewal window unless I missed something.
Are you a Disney lawsuit lawyer??? If not then you are speculating and guessing just as much as anyone else here.

No way is this suit stopping them from making millions of MK sales, the damage would be too much for them to settle if this was the case.
I'm looking forward to buying an MK when they go back up later this month (I think they will).
This plaintiffs' lawsuit alleged deceptive consumer sales and practices on behalf of Disney. Legal terms and conditions on the passes always change but what is different here is Disney was sued. Disney is settling the case with the plaintiffs. What is going on here is that Disney agreed to the settlement but we do not know what Disney admitted doing or just settlement. This is not the sale of a product - those rules do not apply. Essentially Disney is selling a membership like a gym or Costco but the membership is access to theme parks. Disney now has to change whatever consumer sales and practices to align with the settlement terms. What really is going on is Disneyland is going to use the settlement of the Dream Key lawsuit to revamp the entire program. Like most corporations, Disney is very conservative and not going to sell new passes until the litigation is resolved.Could you explain to someone with no legal knowledge why many products can be on sale during ongoing and settled lawsuits? What in the settlement is causing them to pause sales until all payouts are done? They already changed their legal terms on the pass years ago when the suit first started.
I have had many class action suit notices for products and memberships and none of them meant a product was out of stock.
Yes the renewals were open to windows. My mistake. No I am an attorney with 20 years of corporate litigation and my firms have represented Disney in litigation. I know how they work. I have never been on a Disney case but the attorneys I worked with have. Guessing yes? Based on experience. I am not going explain how the law works. You can google anything on corporate law.Source??

I appreciate this information. But is the litigation not resolved? There's been many membership type programs that have also faced suits. The settlement said Disney admits to no wrong doing I believe. This plaintiffs' lawsuit alleged deceptive consumer sales and practices on behalf of Disney. Litigation is not resolved until a court certifies the settlement is completed/ Disney has to show the court it has paid all the Key members and that Disney has satisfied all the terms. Federal court has specific settlement rules. Does not happen overnight or in a month's time.I appreciate this information. But is the litigation not resolved? I actually think there is another explanation for taking the Inspire pass away a few days ago. They are revamping terms and increasing prices and will release these soon (hopefully not before I can renew my Magic Keys at the old price). It is NOT silly. The lawsuit was still pending. I truly would be shocked if Disney didn’t resume some kind pass sales regardless of what’s happening with the settlement. They will just change the terms. And in fact, that’s what they did after the lawsuit was filed… took away the “no blockouts” pass by blocking out two weeks at Christmas for Inspire. Changed terms and legal language on new pass sales.
All of our talk is only speculation but people are taking it as fact … no one’s what Disney will do.
If I’m remembering correctly, the last two times they opened sales up I think they sold out in about eight hours. If that actually happens, the question is, how quickly will they sell out again? I've got PTO put aside to take a day or two off to wait out the queue if I'm lucky enough to get advanced notice on a when a sale is about to drop. I'm not even just targeting one specific key anymore, I'll take whichever one I can get as I know I can upgrade or downgrade it later, even if it means dropping 2 grand on Inspire. I'll make it work.
But if they sell out again in less than 48 hours...
This is so accurate. Disney loves to create a frenzy.I don’t know about all of the legal things above at all. However, I do think Disney intentionally creates a lot of uncertainty about pass purchase availability in order to drive renewals. So many folks on these boards have said that they normally would not renew (for whatever reason at the time) but they are renewing for fear of MK sales being paused when they might want to buy another one in the future. They also “sell out” of MKs suddenly at different price points but the highest price MK didn’t “sell out” until a few days ago. This again creates uncertainty in folks who don’t currently have a MK but might want one in the future. Once the MKs are not available and people feel that they have missed the chance to purchase, the next time they are up for sale, they may buy one even if the timing or price point is not right for them, simply to avoid missing out again. It just seems like a lot of gamesmanship on the part of Disney, toying with the guests over the availability of the MKs. Frustrating but not really surprising.
I thought you were implying no sales of M Keys until everyone has been paid out?Not engaging anymore on this topic any longer.
Disney stopped selling any new keys the day the settlment was announced. Anything is possible about when the sale of keys will happen. We shall what happens.
