I've had excellent service from Connections. I hope Disney doesn't decide to stop them from selling passes, and meal vouchers.

I'm glad Disney is going to replace your passes.

I wonder if they would have replaced the tickets if they had been purchased from them, or would they have stood by the statement on the back of the ticket. "Disney is not responsible for misplaced, lost or stolen tickets."

Prior to reading this thread it never crossed my mind to make a copy of my park passes. Oh well, something else to add to my long list of things to do before our trip.

I have to agree with some other posters -- I could not have expected Disney to replace these tickets without the numbers. Until I started reading these boards, I would not have even thought about asking them to replace lost tickets if I had the numbers. I thought it was my responsible to keep up with my tickets, my money, my children, etc.......

And NO, I do not have the nerve to do the Connections trial period thing. I hope you remember how great they are if and when your orginial tickets get found.

I'M So Glad Your Vacation is SAVED!!
I remember how worried you were, over th loss of your tickets as anyone would be,especially since you didn't have the $$ to replace them.

Go have fun!! Then tell us how Great it was,ok!!

Now that wasn't nice Tink.... We are all entitled to our opinions and beliefs, the last time I checked.

I still have some unused tickets purchased 3-4 years ago. You think if I lose them that someone should fork over 4 more 5 day park hoppers for me without deactivating the originals?

Yeah Tink, maybe YOU should take your own advice and head on over to the Debate board. All we are doing is stating facts.

This is why I am happy:

Disney trusted her, and they believed her story. We need to have trust in this world. There is nothing wrong with trusting someone's word.

I learned from her story. We recently lost a pass that I purchased from one of the companies at one of the fast pass locations. I had a copy of the pass thanks to her story. The only thing the gentleman asked me at the customer relations was what time I entered the park. I gave him the answer, and he handed over a new pass. I was VERY VERY grateful.

You would be suprised to know how many people loose their passes every day. I went to lost and found and saw at least 20 passes/tickets in the found ticket box. As a matter of fact, I found one sticking out of the fast pass holder, and I immediately turned it in. I felt bad because I wondered if they had a copy of their number located on the back of their pass. I was told if they didn't they would not be able to get it back.

This is why I am sad:

Connections should not be held responsible, and I do not know why they would be. I purchased my passes from Paramount, and they sent the passes with a copy of the back of the passes in the envelope.

I think there should be a tracking system for the tickets. I think this because they are frequently taken out for fast passes, and they can easily be lost. I know there are some of you out there who think if people loose them it is their problem, but these things do happen no matter how careful you are. My Dh swore he was being careful when he lost our son's pass. He was in shock when he didn't have it after going back to OKW. I think every one needs to be informed to make a copy of the passes on the back as soon as they get them. The gentleman at the customer relations told me to just make sure I write the number down, and they could issue a new pass.

Maybe I am being biased. I think I am just sympathetic to those who do not have the attention span to keep track of their possessions (comes along with being a teacher.) You would be suprised to know how many adults suffer from Attention Deficit Disorder. Not saying this should be an excuse but.............

I don't see why anyone should have to go to another forum in order to express an opinion on this matter.

I think it's wonderful that Disney replaced the tickets. I know I would be heartbroken if I lost $1000 worth of WDW tickets.

My discomfort with this entire episode came from the original poster's anger at Connections, and her insistence that Connections had done something wrong, or that Connections had some obligation to track to whom each ticket is sold. Disney doesn't even do this, why would Connections?

I dont think that Connections did anything wrong, and I agree with Hulabird, I have never had a problem with them at all. I cant believe that anyone would expect to be reimbursed for an error they themselves made- losing the tickets was a very expensive mistake, but noone made it but the purchaser! People need to take responsibility for their own errors! My opinion, of course.

:( :( My point was, Why can't you be HAPPY that this family DIDN'T have to CANCEL their WDW Trip???

Instead of flaming her for trying to SAVE their WDW TRIP??

I wouldn't have had an extra $1000. to replace the NEW tickets she had just purchased,it would have just ruined the WDW trip,I would have had to stay home.

And about Connections,They DO NOT track in anyway your,[or anyones] purchase. If I go to any other site and make a purchase I get a Comformation Number in cause there is a problem with the order,so the problem can be worked out.

Instead of flaming her for trying to SAVE their WDW TRIP??

Sorry, but I didn't see any flames. I did see folks wondering why she was angry at Connections, when they hadn't done anything wrong.

If I go to any other site and make a purchase I get a Comformation Number in cause there is a problem with the order,so the problem can be worked out.

My contention all along was that there was no problem with the order. She ordered tickets, Connections sent her the tickets, and she lost them. How is that a problem with the order, or how is it Connections problem in any way, shape or form?

OK, now that we have established that Connections is not at fault, let's help others find a way that this will not happen to them.

Let me also say that I think that if Disney is going to investigate Connections it does not have to do with just one incident. Maybe there are others who have complained to Disney?????
I will refrain from repeating what happened to me, and believe me it was NO fault of mine

Can there be a way that people who purchase hopper passes are informed that they must know the numbers on the back of their passes. Meaning, TREAT HOPPER PASSES LIKE TRAVELER'S CHEQUES!!!!!!!!

I am saying this because like I said before It is a great risk having to take passes out constantly to insert them for fast pass. There must be a better way. I know in this case that is not how they were lost, however, I think that companies need to inform customers the importance of making a copy of the back of their pass(es)

Can somebody give me the URL for Connections, they seem to have it together.

I can't imagine expecting them or Disney to fix my mistake, that's why when I receive airline tickets or something of that nature I am sure to put them in a secure area. I know I wouldn't have called Disney and made it look like it was Connections fault that I lost the tickets. It seems fairly obvious to me.

Gee I went to the bank the other day and withdrew $1,000. She gave me 10 $100 bills. I didn't copy the bills, nor did I write down the serial numbers nor did I put the money in a secure place. I lost the money so I went back to the bank and asked them to give me another $1,000, but out of their accounts, not mine. I mean, they should be a good business and keep track of the serial numbers they have on each and every transaction right? I can prove I drew out the $1,000; they have that transaction in their computer. They should just trust me when I say I lost the money right? Just because I can't prove I actually LOST the money and I don't have any serial numbers to give them in case someone else finds the money and tries to spend it is no reason not to give me another $1,000.

:(

Geez, one would hope people would just apply common sense.

jipsy

I would call the BBB and raise a BIG stink cause it is not my fault I am irresponsible. ;)

I know that there's probably nothing I can do, but does anyone know if Connections has a tracing system to see if the tickets they sold you have never been used? I bought them a month ago, went to Disney last week & decided to just do Universal. I know I brought them home, but can't find those darn 4 little tickets (that were in a baggie) anyone.

I think they may have got tossed out with all the papers that I accumulated while in Orlando - stupid, stupid me - I think I just tossed $1000 out the window.

Has this ever happened to anyone? I'm so embarrassed I shouldn't even be submitted this. I can't even tell my DH - I'll maybe have to save up another $1000 somehow - I'm so depressed I could just die.

This is treloarf's original post in May. The trip was already taken, so there was no WDW vacation to be "saved."

It would've been great if Connections had been able to give her the ticket numbers so Disney could reissue them, but the fact that they couldn't/wouldn't/didn't doesn't make Connections a bad company. The fact that Disney replaced them without having a way to cancel the lost tickets makes them a great company.

Yeh, but the next one is "saved" & Disney knows it... I don't know why everybody takes this so seriously, like all of you complaining actually lost money or something, YOU DIDN'T & neither did Disney for that matter! Maybe you should take heart that if your Husbands or Kids ever threw out your tickets, MAYBE they would be replaced. I absolutely know that nobody here would ever throw them out of course, but like I said it might be one of your family members!

I think it's wonderful that Disney was able to help. Yes, this was very fortunate - sometimes it's being in the right place at the right time (getting through to the person who can actually help you). As for Connections having a tracking system for what is actually sent out or billed ??? - 2 weeks ago when I joined Connections I thought they were great (even though I'd read otherwise). After yesterday, I have a different opinion.

Actually, Disney did lose money, since they sent out tickets for which they received no compensation.

As for people complaining, I haven't seen anyone complaining except the original poster, who was complaining about Connections, and threatening legal action and BBB complaints. And for what? Because Connections didn't track the ticket numbers sold to her. Disney doesn't do this either, except for APs, so what is the big deal about Connections not doing it?

Maybe you should take heart that if your Husbands or Kids ever threw out your tickets, MAYBE they would be replaced. I absolutely know that nobody here would ever throw them out of course, but like I said it might be one of your family members!

You're absolutely right, it could happen to any of us. If it happened to me, I would call Connections, and see if there were ticket numbers. If they said no, then that would be the end of it for me. I certainly wouldn't start blaming Connections for the fact that I couldn't keep track of $1000 worth of admission media. I also wouldn't call Disney and complain to them about Connections, since Connections didn't do anything wrong. My personal opinion is that the lady screwed up, as we all do from time to time, and then she was mad that someone else couldn't fix a problem that she created, albeit accidentally.

Again, I'm glad that Disney was able to help her. But I still don't understand her anger at Connections. Maybe someone more enlightened can clear it up for me.
