I know about the HOT TEA BAG, anything else I can put on it?:( It hurts like the dickens!:o

Old Wives tale -- states that a sty in the eye comes from peeing in the alley! LOL

Hope you feel better soon.
;)

We used to bathe the eye with a mild boric acid solution. Last time I checked that is no longer recommended. There is a otc medication called stye at pharmacies that works very well.

I use a hot washcloth to help get it to drain. They sure do hurt! Hope you feel better soon!

Oh Faith! *HUGS* You have my sympathy. Here's a site with some info.

Styes

Another vote for warm compresses,I have had a lot of these and that usually helps the most.

Good luck.

Steve

I vote for the yucky yellow medicine at the drug store. Ask the pharmacist for help. It's nasty looking, but it works.

As weird as this may sounds, I know it works because I've had two styes and it worked effortlessly.
Get a raw potato, cut it in half and put it over the stye. Something in the potato draws out the poison in the stye. How do you know it's working.....the stye will itch like the dickens!! Also, hot to warm compresses will help also.

GOOD LUCK!

Denise

Then bury the potato in the middle of a cross-road at midnight :D

No disrespect intended Tiggerlover91; I really do believe you!!!

My grandmother always said to stand in a doorway and say "Stye, stye, in my eye; catch the next one that passes by"

So apparently granny wasn't only a witch, but she was mean-spirited enough to wish her torment on another person!

Actually, I named my first daughter after that sweet old lady; I still miss her!

my mom used to rub her gold wedding band over it.

I knew you all would have some good advice!;) Right NOW its KILLING ME! I have had these before, but never this bad!:( I will try the POTATO, thanks Denise!;) I want this thing GONE from my Body!:o

Easy....I have connections in HIGH places. ;)

I use some over the counter medicine called Stye Away. Works about as well as anything else.

You've already had some great advice, so I will just offer comforting {{{HUGS}}} sweetie. Styes are miserable things :(

This darned thing REALLY hurts! It has yet to form a "Whitehead!" When it does, I know I will feel better! This really SUCKS! I better get that "stye Cream" tomorrow!:o

I had one and went to eye doc. and he squeezed it with two sterile q-tips on wooden sticks and i save myself the $$$ and do it myself now. Gross but it works.

Got the Stye cream.....only helps for about 15 min and NOW I am in EXTREME PAIN!  I think I'd better try and "see" the Dr. on Monday, this is REALLY KILLING me!  I am suppose to go away this Friday for DH's Birthday.:o If this thing is no better, I cannot GO!

{{{HUGS}}} and PD to you Poohbear! Do you remember my problems with a sty this past spring? I had a horrible time with that sty!! I finally had to get it lanced by my doctor and that all happened four days before our WDW trip!

My Doc gave me some cream, too but I personally feel it messed up my eye worse!!

Good luck.:D

ACCKKK! I hope that does NOT happen. It is now 8:10pm, and I have to admit.....its a teeny tiny bit better. I can SEE the Computer Screen now! I am putting the "Stye" cream on with a Q-Tip, and it seems to be soothing it a little. Before it felt like I had Rocks in my eyes! I will definitely give it until Monday, before I make up my mind on whether to go to the Dr.'s!;)

If it doesn't feel better, head to the doctors. My b/f has what we thought was a stye a couple of weeks ago. Instead it was an ingrown eyelash...yuck. It had to be lanced. And it still took over a week to heal.
