First of all, I wanted to thank everyone for their advice.

I wanted to/didn't think it was affecting my dh so much, but then the last few days, he was increasingly grumpy.

I outright asked him if he was stressing about disney and he said yes, a lot. It was then that I decided to tell him.

I got the money out and handed it to him.

He was so happy and surprised that we both started crying. He was amazed. He said he never in a million years thought I would've started saving for the trip.

He was so happy and proud.

So now we're both going to start saving and putting money into it.

He said it was a weight lifted off his shoulders.

Thanks for everything guys! I really appreciate it. :grouphug:

I am so happy for you and your DH. Its great when you can make each other happy just by changing a little (you being able to save). I am also glad you told him, so now he wont have to worry. He will probably still worry, but at least he wont have to do it alone, and stress carried on 2 shoulders weighs so much less than stress carried on one.

Now the hard part...don't spend it!!! Happy you were able to make DH's day. :)

I am glad that your DH had that lifted off his shoulders :) lol...I hate saving

That had to feel good to tell him. :) You made a good decision. I'm glad he isn't stressing out anymore.

I'm so glad things worked out for the two of you :D Now, with that weigh lifted, he can really get excited about the trip!

WTG! :D

Plus, congrats on changing your saving habits. I remember your other post how you mentioned you weren't a saver. Now you are.... Congrats!

I'm so glad he was relieved
sounds like you'll have a great trip if you can continue to save

Enjoy saving for the trip together! It will be great because you won't owe anything on charge cards when you return. Saving is the best way. When you "want" to buy something you don't need, remember the great trip you are saving for and it will help you change your spending habits and be a saver. Buying "stuff" isn't nearly as fun as doing things with your family and making memories.

Congratulations on telling DH, Im with you I couldnt have stood watching my dh suffer knowing i had a secret stash of money somewhere. Im glad that it has helped both of you to look forward to your upcoming trip. :)

Good job! You're a stand up gal. :Pinkbounc I'm glad you told him--lok how much better he feels. and now that he knows, there will be more incentive to NOT spend the money. :earboy2:

Glad you decided to 'fess up. It must have felt so good to be able to put his mind at ease! Good luck saving the rest!

Congratulations on saving the money and sharing the information with your DH! Hopefully, both of you can relax a bit more and enjoy your trip! :)
