DH used to be the way your DH is.. When we first started going I had to drag him kicking and screaming.. it wasnt until I would go with one of my DD's or once I took both of my DD's and my DS and left him home Whenever I would mention about going with the kids or just without him in general he'd give me one of these looks and Id melt

Thank you for the avon comment.. I cant believe Im this excited about it.. but it almost seems too easy.. I get 50% profit on all avon manufact items and 20% of the others.. I have taken 3 orders so far and I have already figured my profit over $50 I have so many others who have already told me they are getting their orders together.. so I think my first order is gonna be a good one

Nothing new to report as far as plans.. but I did go to Bath and BodyWorks yesterday and picked up an application.. Im almost done filling it out and will return it tomorrow am.. Im hoping to get a part time holiday job there.. so hoping that works out..

Well this week has been emotionally draining for me..

Me and DH found out one of our friends has cancer and its in Stage 4 already We found out last week that he had cancer but he found out yesterday the stage he is in.. The cancer is covering both lungs, its in his lymph nodes and already in his collarbone..

Then one of my other friends is dealing with her elderly dad and having a blood clot.. He had to have a pacemaker put in today..

and then on top of that I found out DD10 will definitely be having back surgery for her scoliosis.. she has been battling this since she was about 5.. she has been in braces and they have been trying to hold her off until around age 12.. she went today for her checkup with the orthopedic dr and she is currently at 40 degree curvature.. at 45 they start scheduling surgery.. He took her out of her brace as he said that its not going to do any good at this point and all they can do is let it run its course.. she goes back in 3 months and once she is actually at 45 degree curve than they are scheduling her surgery.. he said that they have found most insurance companies want it at at least 45 before they will cover it.. they are looking at the beginning of June as he said that by then it will be there.. they want her to finish up this school year.. Im devastated with this news my poor baby has had nothing but health problems since she was born and it seems so unfair sometimes.. she has a heart condition and also a problem with one of her lungs and tends to get pneumonia.. I just wish I could make all of this go away for her..

I started thinking today that I HAVE to do something special for her.. Im thinking if I can swing it I will take her to WDW.. just me and her - right before school gets out.. maybe arrive on a Tuesday night and come home the next Sunday.. I have to talk to DH tonight and see what he thinks.. If nothing else perhaps she will come with us on this trip that I am planning in February instead.. not sure yet.. but its a thought if I cant swing both trips..

Sorry for going on.. I guess Im just feeling sorry for myself right now.. DH, me and DD10 are planning on going to the Octoberfest in a nearby town tonight.. I guess it'll help to get my mind off things..

Thanks guys for the well wishes.. I havent been on much lately but decided to pop to this site today..

Nothing really new with my planning at this point.. But I was excited yesterday to get the mail.. I had some points in my mypoints account and I had turned them in for giftcards to Landrys Restaurants.. so now I have another $50 ($75 total) in giftcards that I can use at Rainforest Cafe, Yak & Yeti or TRex (Downtown Disney).. This will cover several meals for us and it was all free by doing my clicking.. Im over halfway already to another $25 giftcard and then Im starting to save for other giftcards that we can use along the way to Florida such as gas or food places to stop and eat..

Me and DH were talking and I think that we are going to take DD10 to Sea World for a few days before her surgery.. We live in Dallas/Fort Worth and can easily get to San Antonio.. she has been wanting to go to SW so bad and the last time she went she was about 2, so she doesnt remember it.. I was thinking of maybe heading that way for 4 days or so..

Also discussed with DH that other than this trip to WDW and taking DD to San Antonio that will probably be all we get to do next year, as I will be taking off a few months from work when she has the surgery.. The good part is that I can at least get short term disability I believe.. I need to check into this and make sure I can collect it if Im off with a child and it not being myself, but Im sure hoping so.. If I can, things wont be so bad and I'll get to spend that time with her.. If not, Im still taking it off, but things will be a little tight.. We normally vacation quite a bit.. we cruise several times a year and then go to WDW several times throughout the year, but next year we'll take some time off with that and just resume the following year..

Im still undecided about onsite vs offsite.. Waiting for some codes to come out and then I can decide what to do.. Once the room is booked, then I can finally start deciding on eating places..

Im back!!! See I didnt abandon the thread..

I just havent had anything new to report so I figured I would give it awhile and then come back..

Well nothing new as I already said.. but life is good! The weather is wonderful here in Texas right now.. It seems like all there is going on right now is work, work and more work.. DS15 has his last football game this coming Thursday so my life will be own on Thursdays.. at least until the next sports starts up

As I previously mentioned I started selling Avon.. I love it!! Now I know thats a little premature since I've only turned in one campaign so far, but my second one is coming up this week.. I made $143 profit on my first order unfortunately none of it went into my pocket .. I had to buy books for the campaign that is coming due this week and I went ahead and bought books for the next campaign also because I want to make little bags to hand out to the moms on Halloween when we give out candy and the bags will include an Avon book.. If I didnt order them on that order than I wouldnt have them in time for Halloween.. then I had to buy the bags and then I had to buy this and that.. and then DD17 wanted/needed some makeup so I caved in and got that.. I even picked up some Christmas gifts.. since I am earning 50% profit right now I got them at a great deal.. so who can complain right??

I was just happy that I got all I did and it wasnt anything out of my pocket.. I have a few "wish" items for my order this week and I picked out a few christmas gifts and of course DD17 has a few things she is wanting.. so Im hoping to be able to get all of these things and make a little money on it..

I also wanted to put in an application at Bath and Bodyworks for the holidays.. I went and got the appl and filled it out but havent returned it yet.. This is on my list of things to do today.. Im hoping its not too late..

DH got a raise at work which was a pretty good one.. so that will help tremendously..

We decided on what we will be doing for DD10 prior to her back surgery as I mentioned I wanted to do something special for her before the surgery.. she has been bugging me for quite some time about Sea World.. We have one here in San Antonio which is about a 4 hour drive.. so me, DH and DD10 will head that way on a Wednesday after work (the first Wednesday after school is out for the summer) and then we will return home on Sunday.. I figured we could spend a few days at Sea World and then do some things around San Antonio.. She is thrilled to say the least..

Ok.. now on to Disney.. afterall this is a Disney board..

I have been thinking LLLLLLLLONG and hard about this .. I keep changing my mind.. I am known for that..

I want to go in January.. I am looking at Jan 24-31-- We will definitely drive down on Friday after work and we will arrive some time on Saturday.. we will have NO plans for Saturday.. I figure we'll pick something up to eat right before we make it to the hotel and then we'll crash for the rest of the night..

I have changed my mind about the hotel and we will stay at All Star Movies.. this is the value resort DH has been wanting to stay at for some time now.. and the only one he has not been able to stay at.. I originally wanted to stay offsite but with us going in January the hours are going to be shorter to begin with and if we stay onsite we can at least take advantage of EMH.. so that was the deal breaker for me.. I havent made reservations yet as it is rumored that the January codes are coming out hopefully tomorrow.. I will keep checking the boards for info tomorrow and if there is a % code than I will call immediately and book our room... If there is nothing listed by the end of the week or its anything other than a % off the room then I will go ahead and book tomorrow also.. We already have 5 day park tickets so I dont want to pay extra for tickets on this trip.. all we need is the hotel.. so I guess we'll have to see what happens with this..

The good thing is that we will have our car so we will be driving ourselves rather than taking the buses so I can see if I like that any better than waiting around for the buses..

Im also excited and hoping that there will be a Pirate and Princess Party on the Friday that we are there on the 30th... My fingers are crossed anyways... The 5 day tickets we have will get us thru Thursday so if there is a P&PP then we will buy those one day tickets and that will get us into MK at 4 that day and we can stay for the party..

The other kicker that DH doesnt know about and Im hoping to make this happen... He thinks we will be going to WDW for 2 weeks.. although I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to stay that long.. I plan on surprising him with a Carnival cruise out of Port Canaveral.. there is one that leaves on the 31st and Port Canaveral is semi closeby.. I will leave it as a surprise and tell DH on the Friday before the cruise.. I will pack the extras he will need for the cruise without him knowing about it.. such as his dresspants, dress shirts, shoes and tux.. since we will be driving he wont even question the extra suitcase..

He is a little bummed because he thinks we wont be able to cruise next year.. so this will be a nice surprise!!! Im still in the planning stages of this and havent gotten much further yet but hoping this comes together!! Will keep you updated on how it goes..

OK.. I did it!! I decided to go ahead and call and get prices even though the code hasnt came out yet.. I figured I would call and update it if I need to.. although we got a preferred room and I dont know if they even give discounts on preferred rooms.. either way, we now have a room!! whew

Now I can officially start planning!!

I booked us for Allstar Movies Preferred location.. from Jan 24-31st.. I just booked the room since we have our tickets.. again Saturday we wont be doing anything.. If we get there early enough and have rested enough maybe we will head to DTD to walk around, but thats about all..

Finally I can start figuring our days and which parks, etc.. The only thing still up in the air is Friday, Jan 30.. We dont have tickets for that day as that is the 6th day and we only have 5 day tickets.. Im hoping for the P&PP.. Hoping those dates will be released this week and then I can purchase those tickets and we will be set..

I'm off to figure out our plan of attack and will hopefully be back tomorrow to update..

Ok I have been hard at work today figuring out which parks on which days..

so far here is what Im thinking..

Saturday- arrive at hotel.. thinking we will pick up something to eat prior to arriving and then will get to hotel.. check in.. eat, situate and then crash.. I figure we wont be doing anything else this day as its about 17 hours of driving to get to Disney from our house.. we will probably go straight thru except stopping for bathroom breaks and stopping to stretch our legs..

Sunday- Hollywood Studios- open 9 am - 7 pm with evening EMH
This park is by far one of our favorites.. we absolutely love love love Rock N Roller Coaster!!!

Monday- Magic Kingdom- 9 am- 8 pm with evening EMH

Tuesday- Epcot- 9 am- 9 pm with morning EMH

Wednesday- Animal Kingdom- 9 am - 5 pm with morning EMH

Thursday- not sure which park we will do again on this day yet.. Im still looking to see about doing a tour-- depending on which tour may have an impact on which park we redo again this day.. I figured this day we will also visit Downtown Disney..

Friday- Im still hoping there will be a Pirate and Princess Party on this evening.. but still dont know.. Worst case scenario is that if there isnt a party on this day we may buy 1 day tickets so we can visit a park on this day.. Again its still up in the air at this point..

Saturday- current plan is that we will check out on this day and head to Port Canaveral to get on a cruise ship.. I havent gotten this far yet in my planning as Im trying to get the Disney part down first..

But Im on my wayyyyyy...

Next step is to figure out what we will do as far as food and where to eat..

I checked today and no January codes listed yet.. At this point Im just happy that we 're going... it would be nice to get a discount, but heck Im going to Disney World!!! All is good in the world right now

I've been thinking about food choices today and where I want to go with this..

Food isnt a big deal for me anymore since I've had my lapband surgery.. I hate that it isnt a big deal and DH suffers because of it.. I cant eat ALOT of types of food anymore and definitely cant eat alot OF food anymore either.. In past food was a BIG part of my WDW vacation.. Getting to try new places and new foods.. As everyone knows, the prices arent cheap so I hate the feeling of throwing food away..

Some of our favorites is Cosmic Rays (can you say "the chicken is yummy!").. 50's Primetime (love love LOVE the pot roast)...

Well we will definitely do both of these on this trip.. some others that Im tossing around is Yak & Yeti (again as posted in an earlier post- I have some giftcards so this meal will be either free or practically free with the giftcards), Rainforest Cafe (again the appetizer will be free with my membership card and I have giftcards so the meal will either be free or very cheap), T Rex (again because of the giftcards, but it is a new one so I want to try it..) I think the food is much like RFC, so it may be one or the other.. I'll have to get with DH and see what he thinks.. and I think we want to try Spoodles.. DH mentioned last trip that he wants to go to the Boardwalk and walk around at night, so I was thinking we could do dinner there one night while we are in that area.. and last but not least I think we will visit Nine Dragons again.. We went there on a recent trip and really enjoyed it so I think we will give it a go again while in Epcot.. We may even do a little research and find a few places offsite to go eat at since we will have our car..

Im thinking those are the only places we will plan and everything else we will play it by ear, meaning will just find a place to eat when we are hungry.. The one thing about our Disney trips is that our eating gets so out of whack its not funny.. because our schedule is so weird we tend to eat breakfast late, which causes a late lunch and then of course we dont want dinner til 10 or 11 at night.. its crazy..

I do know that I want a Dole Whip (more like a few bites of) and a Kaki Gori.. those are the things that Im already thinking of anyway at this point

I know I want to squeeze in some time at mini golf as we have been talking about doing that when we go for what seems like FOREVER.. so I think this is the trip to get it done.. also since we are driving, and will have room in the car for purchases, I would like to visit the outlet stores.. what to buy, what to buy..

and last but not least I still need to decide what tour or tours to do.. This is a new tradition for us and since we have been to WDW so many times we have started doing some of the tours each trip.. last time we did the Segway Tour and I got hurt so hoping for something a little less adventurous I guess you could say

If there is any other food places, on or more particularly offsite or any tours that you can recommend, Im all ears!

The train tour sounds like a good one.. I listen to the dis podcast and now that you mentioned that tour I remember one time Bawb talked about this tour if I remember correctly and he also said how much he really loved it.. I will tell DH about it and see what he thinks.. We were talking a little today and he soooo loved the Segway tour we did in August and he mentioned he would like to do the Segway tour at Fort Wilderness.. Im all for that except I got hurt on the the other Segway tour.. Lets just say the machine went crazy when I went down an incline and I fell off.. hurting my legs and arm..

Im thinking we may do several tours....

When me and DH went to Nine Dragons last we actually both got an appetizer and that was all I ate.. He ended up eating an entree after the appetizer and I just nibbled on the appetizer the entire meal.. I wish I could remember what I had but basically it was chicken on a stick.. It was soooo yummy!!

Its funny you mention the January AP rates.... As I have mentioned in a previous post.. I am notoriously known for changing my mind..

I have been visiting the January codes post on the resort board alot as Ive been watching for a heads up on a code.. well I kept reading about the AP rates coming out and I thought to my self.. "self.. why dont I see what the difference in price is just for giggles" so yesterday I went into my bedroom and closed the door so DH wouldnt hear me and I called Disney to see if there were any rooms still avl at Allstar Movies.. guess what?? They still had some Preferred rooms avl.. which is what we already have booked.. The price is $267 less with the AP rate.. Before I called I had already looked up the price of an AP ticket so that when I found out on the phone what the price would be for the same room with the AP rate then I would know if I wanted to switch it.. Well if we take the AP rate room we would HAVE to buy an AP which I hadnt planned on since we already have 5 day tickets for each of us.. so in the end I changed our booking to the AP rate and now we have to get one AP.. to do this we are only looking at spending an additional $200 over what I was planning on spending on just the room.. with the % discount on the sit down meals we might do and the % discount we would get at WOD and on the tours this will pick up some of that difference in pricing..

Now the best part.. by doing this, this will guarantee me another trip within 365 days

Well when I was on the phone with the CM DH had walked in the bedroom and heard somewhat what was going on but he walked out.. today DH asked me what I was doing yesterday and I told him about the AP rate and of course gave all the benefits this would give us.. I cant believe he is all for it! He said the only thing he is worried about is if I get the AP then he thinks we will be going more than just this once.. that was when I clued him in on going next January and doing that so that we check out before the AP expires and then we will just have to buy a ticket for him before that time..

so the plan is that I will buy an AP for me and DH will use his 5 day ticket on this trip.. I am hoping (fingers crossed) that we can go at Christmas time perhaps.. but we'll have to see and then of course we will be going the following January also..
