I'm bringing my family and some of my son's inline hockey team to WDW next week for the AAU Disney Classic tournament during Memorial Day weekend. The eight of us are currently booked into three standard rooms at the All-Star Sports from 5/27 through 6/3 with the Annual Pass discount ($66/room/night).

Having ignored the "Renting DVC Points" section of www.mousesavers.com until now, I'm scrambling, looking for someone interested in renting points that could check into the availability of a 2-bedroom villa at Old Key West (or something comparable) the latter half of our stay, perhaps May 30 or 31 through June 3. I see that staying over a Friday and Saturday is very expensive.

I see from most posts that points run $10 apiece. At that rate, I'd be spending $810 (+ ?, taxes?) for three days vs. the $576 for the same duration at the All-Star Sports but I assume the experience would be worth it. I would appreciate hearing from anyone willing to rent their points at a better price.

By the way, if anyone else has any other recommendations, I'd be grateful. As coach of the team, I'm not just chaperoning the three players staying with us, I'm helping cover their costs in order for them to make the trip. Having stayed at the All-Star Sports on a previous visit, my family was hoping for a different experience.

Thanks,
Mike Moulckers

May 25-27 is dvc members homecoming and all the dvc resorts are sold out. and the waitlist is very long, i know because i am on the waitlist for a few days before homecoming and they are still sold out.
there are ap codes , have you checked those out.

By the AP codes, I assume you mean the AP discounted rate. If so, I was disappointed to find only a 20% discount on the Home Away From Home properties whereas the others (Value, Moderate, and Deluxe) are discounted 45%! I've tried upgrading from a Value Resort to a Moderate but found all the AP-discounted rooms already gone.

With learning about DVC point "renting" at the last minute and trying to find availability during a very busy weekend, those three rooms at the All-Star Sports are looking pretty good...

Thanks,
Mike

yes ap ( annual passes) discount on rooms.

you tried the discount for the akl or wl ?

even though i dont have points to rent you, i could call tomorrow and just see if they have a 2 bedroom, for which nights

AKL = Animal Kingdom Lodge (a deluxe resort)

WL= Wilderness Lodge (another deluxe resort)

Good luck on finding something during that time! I haven't even been able to find something at Vero for that same time period...

ok, so far the all star looks like your best bet, when ms opens (9:00am eastern) i will call to see if they have a 2 bedroom for sunday may 30- checking out on june 3 or 4th. but you will have to stay at the allstar on may 27-28-29 checking out on the 30th.
points on weekends are high.

if members service has a 2 bedroom , then you have to decide whether your going to commit to renting points from another member, i could help you in finding someone to rent points.

since we are less then 31 days out from arrival, once you find a member willing to rent the points you cannot cancel for any reason or the member will lose their points, once the ressies is made.

For consideration of a good price for the 81 points I'm looking for, I could provide the renter with a team sponsorship plaque.

Thanks!

pm you , start a new thread on renting points so the members can see it, sometimes members dont read all the posts.
