I think you are letting her off the hook. I doubt she'll admit it, but she didn't want to go - otherwise she would not have treated you that way. I think it sounds like you've got it under control. Don't let it get you down!

Yikes! Why did she "tell you off"? It sounds like you'll need to give her a call and just let her know that the tension was too much for you and that you've had to replace her. She will probably be ticked off, no matter how you tell her, so just do it! But you really need to let her know ASAP that she has been replaced!

It's a shame that something that should be so much fun has turned into such a pain! (she doesn't sound like a very good friend - so if she's not one after this, it's her loss!)

I was reading the other thread last night and thought you worked it out. Did something else happen after your last post on the other thread?

OK here it is, I called her like some of you had advised. I was beginning to wonder if anything bad had happened.

I call, she answer's the phone as though nothing was wrong. I said Elaine is everything allright as we missed you lastnight. Her response was I told you. I told you that Patrick had guitar lesson.

My response was yes you told me that he had guitar lesson from 7 to 7:30, that you would then take him home and then be over. i did tell her that I was upset and felt that a phone call would have been in order. I also told her that the girls waited here until 10:00 to meet her. She then told me that she had to go home and make dinner for the boys. She said oh well I got tired.

I kindly explained to her my feelings and that I was hurt and very concerned. She did apologize and realized her mistake.

I told her I am not perfect and have made mistake as well. so lets just put this bed and start over. So we will get together for lunch and give her an update. We are even going to go to the movies. She said she will be at the next meeting.

I, too, have been following this thread. I hope by now you have called her. I think you're doing right to rescind your invite, but she does need to hear it you before she hears it from anyone else. Let us know how it goes.

Are you still going to the movies and lunch with her after you found a replacement? How did she feel about not going anymore? I think that it was the best thing for you to find a replacement and like your other friends who are going on this trip said of what if something happens while you are there...
