I'll bet she'll do just fine. My kids picked it up within a weekend with a couple of lessons. FWIW, I would never allow my children to ski without a helmetAnd, according to DS, it is easier to snowboard and then ski, then the other way around
He found it difficult to snowboard after years of skiing but finally managed to master it after many tries -- DD still hasn't been able to get it and I think has given up
Just a thought. Have fun, stay warm

Trust me, this is really something I've wrestled over. I've never skied, only snowboarded so I have no personal experience to compare it to. Basically I want her to get the feel on being on snow first and get used to it (if that makes sense) before she tries something that take a bit more patience and practice to learn, but once you learn it gets easier. Ugh. I still am sure I made the right decision to have her ski first but oh well. If she sucks at skiing she can try snowboarding.

comes from my nice, warm, comfortable seat at the lounge/pub. I'm a non-skier although I did ski for years in high school many many moons ago
